Angie was sitting on the bench at practice. India was pitcher practicing with the coach. Monica and Angie haven't talked since the argument. Coach Mendez waved over the girls on the bench.
"Ladies, our final game is coming up and you guys know what that means. Brentwood High would be our last game" Coach Mendez announced
Everyone grunted, Brentwood High girls liked to cheat on their games and played too rough. Angie almost got in a fight with their pitcher her sophomore year.
"Now, I know it's been a rough few years with this school but we need to put our hatred aside and win. Their baseball team is also going to be here. They aren't playing but they insisted on supporting the girls" she explained
India looked over at Angie, she was in shock. It hit her that she had to see Emilio again. She prayed that she would never see him again.
"Good luck ladies and see you guys tomorrow at practice. Get home safe" Coach Mendez said, picking up the equipment
Angie grabbed her bag from the bench and walked away from the field. All the memories from that night rushed through her mind. She wanted to get home and lay down.
India followed behind her, tapping her shoulder. Angie quickly turned around, nearly back fisting India.
"Woah! Are you okay?" She asked, taking a step back
"I forgot about playing Brentwood. I'm forced to see him if I play. He's going to distract me from playing" she explained
"Are you suggesting you're not going to play?" India asked, Angie nodded "Angelina, you're the best batter on the team. We need you" she expressed
"I won't be any good if he's there" she mumbled, scratching her head
"Your bruises are healing meaning you're healing. I know this is all still fresh but don't let him stop you from doing something you love" India explained
"But having to see him again. It terrifies me, what happens if I freak out in the fields. Like how I get when my dad calls me on my birthday. Everything turns red and I can hurt someone. I don't want to hurt anyone" Angie expressed, holding her tears
"You are stronger than you think. You got this, you're going to play for yourself. Not for him"

Angie and India were sitting on the couch. They were doing their final project when Monica came in. Monica set the keys on the key rack and sat on the chair in front of them.
"Angie, I apologize" Monica began "I shouldn't have screamed out what I said. It was rude and uncalled for. But we need to focus on the game tomorrow. For us to win, we need to be a team" she explained
"I accept your apology. You know I love you and I will always tell you the truth" Angie smiled. Monica nodded, her smile fading
"Oh fuck, I didn't think of this. Santos are going to be there at the game. They are always there" India brought up, closing her computer
"What about them?" Angie questioned, putting her computer on the coffee table
"If Emilio is there, they could try to hurt him. I won't mind that but I know you would" India explained
"No, Oscar promised he was going to leave it alone" Angie reminded, scratching her arm
"He promised that he wouldn't do anything. Not others" Monica reminded
"Well, then I need to tell him not to do anything. He should know I don't want anything to happen" Angie expressed, getting off the couch
"I don't think that's a good idea. You haven't spoken to him since our argument. I don't think he would want to discuss that without discussing about you and Sad Eyes" Monica suggested
