Just as many drooling Sundays, Sebastian laid wearily on his damped bed. Messy piles of clothes were pushed into the corner of the narrow bedroom and towers of old books were neatly placed on the dark wooden desk, looking as if untouched in probably years. The small room was plainly too small for a boy of already 11.

Young Sebastian's afflicted boredom could not last any longer. The usual silence in his small, packed room was broken by the "very familiar" firm knock of the hated Matron.Flenn.
"GET UP!! This instant BOY!!" that was the lusty screech which always followed the firm knocks.
"I am not RePeating MySelF Boy!" Sebastian groaned, cursing as he dragged himself off the bed. "I'm Up" Sebastian replied in his usual flat tone.
"Get dressed AnD Off to DINNER you Apathetic BoY!"

Sebastian heard the fierce matron marching off his doorstep, most probably to yell at another unfortunate orphan for their resentful existence.

Their Matron Flenn, an unmarried middle aged women loved to torment children and punish them frequently for her utter enjoyment. A bunch of her favourites were : Scrubbing the chamber pots all day, scrubbing thick long carpets under the scorching summer sun and doing the laundry of the whole orphanage by hand. Just for her delight, she found a plenty of fair reasons to spot disobedient and sulking orphans everyday. Sebastian however was one of her favourites of the sulking children as he was seen as an unusual boy in her eyes.
Sebastian often made many mysterious things happen which made her frightened and angry at the unusually reserved boy. In the orphanage he was known as the stone faced, pale haunted boy who never spoke and never went outdoors.

He was known for what he truly was, only by the strict matron herself. Sebastian could remember the night he received the letter in green ink, carried by an enormous rather pig like owl. A tall strange man in a weirdly long pitch black cloak, claiming to be his father had come into his room to speak to him the very night. Not knowing about any of his family, Sebastian was startled. He downright refused to believe until the stranger revealed his name. Severus Snape.. How did he have a strangers name... "But Sir my name is Sebastian Severus Snape, How could.. We.. Have the same name" Sebastian breathed hardly using his voice at all. "Because I am your father" the stranger replied flatly, throwing a glance of impatience at the matron who was blankly waiting for an explanation. He indeed had the same flat tone of Sebastian's.

Sebastian, unlike other orphans had been a wizard-a wizard who is to attend Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardary. The magical school of England for young magical minds. Sebastian could still remember the matron's trembling lips when she was told what he was. She still hadn't looked him in the eye since. Of course the scowling matron was truly glad to get rid of the pale, odd-looking boy and was thrilled with the acceptance letter. Without protest she quickly agreed with the stranger in black and signed an awful lot of papers under the dimly litted candles. Then with a cold, questioning glance at Sebastian the stranger had left without another word, leaving a puzzled Sebastian to figure things out for himself.

The next morning Sebastian found himself entering the matron's office.
"Matron.Flenn, there's got to be some kind of mistake.. The letter says I require some supplies to go to Hogwarts and.... Mr... Snape(Sebastian didn't know what to call him yet) had asked me to be packed as he would be coming to pick me up this Friday."

The matron looked up and smiled gleefully," Right you are boy. A package was sent to me yesterday and I locked it all up in your locker ." she said, found of her quick thinking.
" How do you think I'm going to pack if all my stuff are locked Up!" Sebastian exclaimed loudly at the news. Shocked at Sebastian's quick change of tone the matron stood up.
" YOU WILL NOT open or take upon the ownership of this erratic junk under my roof BOY! "she screeched, her fat cheeks burning with anger.
" But I'm supposed to leave on Friday, awaiting... Him.. Near midnight and-"
" HOW DARE YOU question my decisions you loathsome boy! I think you just earned yourself a full day of scrubbing chamber pots in the girl's lavatory." barked the outraged matron as she turned her back on Sebastian possibly smirking, pleased with herself for the creative punishment, marching off in her usual manner. ( Making as much noice as her slump heeled boots possibly make) leaving a very grim looking Sebastian with a full day of torture.

Well.. At least he wasn't scrubbing the chamber pots anymore.. Sebastian sighed, coming back to the present. He was getting dressed in their usual plain uniform in which they attended their meals and lessons at the orphanage. Even though many people complained on the orphanage dressing policy, Sebastian couldn't help but to be extremely thankful for this uniform as he found some images on the newspapers of school uniforms rather amusing. (Big fat boys with red skirts, large top hats, embarrassingly colourful butterfly collars and long plum sticks beaming proudly). He was again truly glad to be wearing his plain white shirt and black shorts which fitted him perfectly.

He snapped out of his thoughts once more and made his way towards the dinner hall, joining a rather long line of uncomfortable and irritated orphans. He grabbed himself some bread and cheese throwing looks of disgust at the pots of steamed sprouts and watery mushroom stew. It was their usual Dinner and Sebastian was greatful for his bread and cheese, which always served as his typical breakfast, lunch and dinner.
