In the bustling corridors of Evergreen Heights School, ninth standard brought with it a whirlwind of emotions for Smriti Dave. The echoes of Ishan Shah's proposal to Jisha, his bench partner, reverberated through the school like a storm. It was a shock to everyone, especially Smriti, who felt a pang of betrayal mixed with a strange sense of déjà vu.

Jisha's rejection of Ishan was swift and public, leaving him vulnerable and seeking solace in familiar comfort. He turned to Smriti, once again, for help in navigating the turbulent waters of teenage romance. But this time, Smriti couldn't offer the support he sought. The wounds from their past were still raw, the trust shattered beyond repair. She couldn't bring herself to aid Ishan in pursuing someone else, not when her own heart still carried the weight of his previous betrayals.

A week passed since Ishan's breakup with Smriti, a week filled with awkward silences and fleeting glances between them. Each encounter felt like a collision of emotions-hurt, anger, longing-hidden beneath a facade of indifference. Their conversations were strained, their interactions reduced to polite nods and forced smiles.

Then, one day, Ishan approached Smriti with an apology that echoed through the empty corridors of her heart. He was sorry for everything he had done, sorry for the pain he had caused. He wanted another chance, a chance to rewrite their story, to mend what was broken between them. But for Smriti, the scars ran too deep. The history they shared flashed before her eyes like a haunting reel of memories, each frame a painful reminder of promises broken and trust betrayed.

She stood there, listening to Ishan's earnest plea, her mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. She wanted to forgive him, to believe in the possibility of a future where they could be happy together. But fear held her back-fear of being hurt again, fear of reliving the agony of unrequited love.

Days turned into weeks, and their once vibrant friendship faded into a hollow echo of what it once was. They moved through the school halls like strangers, avoiding each other's gaze yet drawn together by an invisible thread of unfinished business. Each glance exchanged was laden with unspoken words-apologies left unsaid, questions left unanswered.

For Ishan, Smriti had become a closed chapter in his life, a fleeting memory of a time when he had been young and reckless. But for Smriti, Ishan was the whole story-a story she couldn't erase from her heart no matter how hard she tried. The more she tried to forget him, the more she loved him. Yes, she loved him still, with a depth that surpassed reason, clinging to the fragments of their past like a lifeline in the storm.

In the midst of their emotional turmoil, school life carried on with its usual chaos. The pressures of academics weighed heavily on Smriti's shoulders, distracting her from the ache in her heart but never quite easing the pain. Adolescence brought its own set of challenges-physical changes, hormonal fluctuations, and the relentless pursuit of identity amidst the tumult of emotions.

Smriti used to get proposals from the boys often. But, she was back to her 'not interested in any guy' era. Ishan was the only exceptional case.

As Smriti navigated these turbulent waters, she found herself grappling with conflicting desires. Part of her yearned to move on, to find closure and heal the wounds left by Ishan's departure. Yet another part clung desperately to the hope that maybe, just maybe, Ishan would realize his mistake and come back to her.

Amidst the turmoil of her thoughts, Smriti sought refuge in her studies and in the comfort of her friends who stood by her side through the storm. But the ache in her heart persisted, a constant reminder of the love she had lost and the uncertainties that lay ahead.

Now, as she stood at the crossroads of adolescence and adulthood, Smriti faced a choice-one that would shape her future and define the depths of her resilience. Would she continue to hold on to the fragments of a broken love, or would she find the strength to let go and embrace what lay ahead?

The next chapter in her journey awaited, filled with twists and turns that would test her courage and resolve. But for now, as Smriti gazed out at the horizon of possibilities, one thing remained clear-her love for Ishan was a chapter she couldn't close, no matter how much it hurt.

She had laminated the wrappers of the chocolates given by Ishan, the letter which she was about to give him but the same day, Ishan ended up the relationship. The rose he gave her, the poetries and diary entries she wrote just dedicated to him, the dreams where she met him, the memories in her heart and her brain full of his thoughts. She couldn't sleep till late nights just thinking about him full time. Her love for Ishan cannot be expressed in words. Also, she was an introvert. No one, literally no one knew about her pain accept Jivi and Adya. they were the only supporters for her. She never shared any of her problems to her parents since she was 9-10 year old. She didn't knew why.

Smriti
yes the ending was incomplete and was not pleasant but each moment I spent with Ish was as beautiful as him. If my life was a book, he would be my favorite chapter, no doubt.
*kissing his pic* Love you Ish. Hope you get the love of your life. I'll always be happy for you. For me, your happiness matters a lot. Whenever I see a smile on your face, it makes me happier.

It is your birthday tomorrow. May Kanhaji bless you. May you be happy always. May you be so strong to face all the life challenges. Hope in heart to meet you and talk to you like we used to, will always remain. Good night Ish.
