Friday - 5th April 1996

George had initially been a little upset that Apollo hadn't been able to complete the process of becoming an animagus due to his constant illness. But he tried his best to hide his sadness so that Apollo could still enjoy the moment with them.

Fred, being the self proclaimed leader of the group, had gone first. He was now prancing around their dormitory as a red little fox, its coat matching his usual hair, and leaping and bounding over everything. His nose twitching as he searched for all the new smells he was now able to detect.

Lee had gone next, he'd been looking forward to this moment for too long to wait much more. After casting the spell upon himself he began to shrink quite fast. A little bundle of fluff escaping from the pile of uniform that was now discarded on the floor. The grey squirrel and fox made eye contact. A small squeak emitted from the Lee as Fred moved to pounce, in jest but to the squirrel it was still daunting. Lee ran up the side of the wardrobe. Hiding from the fox who paced below. Apollo was snickering at the sight of his two friends acting so much like the animals they had become, it was hard to believe they had once been human.

George didn't want to leave Apollo as the only human in the room but he found it hard to deny the cute pleading his crush was giving him.

"Please Georgie, surely you must be just as desperate as I am to see if it worked?" He begged. Truth was George was desperate to know. Sighing and rolling his eyes he moved his wand to point at himself.

"But if you get bored of not being able to talk with us. Just say the word and I'll change right back" George resigned. Apollo eagerly nodded his head and watched as the Weasley in front of him dropped onto all-fours. Growing a tail much like his brother had but instead of being bushy it was much more fluffy. Apollo bent down to scratch behind George's floppy ears, watching how his tail began to wag uncontrollably as he did. George sat down in a huff, the border collie rolling his eyes.  A memory flickered into Apollos mind.

"Oh Merlin's Beard! Hahaha! You're the animals from our start of term prank!" He rolled on the floor clutching his stomach between bouts of laughter. His pain from the night before was nothing compared to the stitch he'd got. The three animals were all eyeing him cautiously as he continued his manically laughter. Soon a strange barking made Apollo stop momentarily, but when he looked over Fred was also rolling around laughing, albeit as a fox, but definitely laughing. Apollo howled in laughter again. If anyone were to see this now they'd think he'd gone insane.

The boys spent most of the afternoon getting used to how their animal bodies felt and moved. Apollo trying to assist where he could, occasionally helping Lee if he got stuck on something he'd climbed up. Eventually they got hungry and transformed back. Heading off to dinner. They ate quickly and conversation turned once again to the shenanigans they could do as animals now.

"Would you keep your voices down. Someone will hear you if you're not careful" Lee scolded Fred, again.

"You're right. From now on if we are talking about our furry companions we need to use our code names. So if anyone listens in they won't be able to tell" Fred grinned mischievously, "Just like the marauders" he whispered to himself.

"That's not what I meant... ugh fine ok. Code names" Lee grumbled.

Fred and Lee decided to go run around outside in their animagi forms after dinner. They were expecting George to agree to come with them but he shook his head.

"No thanks guys, I'm going to stay in with Apollo. Keep him company" he winked at the McLaggen as he said the last part. Apollo nearly choked on his mashed potatoes.

"You don't have to. I'll be fine if you want to go have fun." Apollo said, he wasn't going to trap George into hanging out with him.

"Trust me Apollo. I'd rather stay in with you. We can have plenty of fun ourselves." He whispered into the long haired boy's ear. If they hadn't been sat at dinner Apollo would have pulled George onto his lap right there.
