Apollo could only hear the ringing in his ears. His eyes were focused on only one thing. The man in front of him.
That man was responsible for every bad thing in Apollos life. He stole his parents from him, he stole his childhood, his health. He stole his future.
Apollo felt nothing at that moment but pure rage. He'd never felt more anger in his life, even during the full moon. He wanted nothing more than to tear the man down that stood several feet away. A nasty animalistic smirk on his beastly face.
He was snarling something, probably a taunt at Apollo but his heart was beating too loud for him to hear it. He didn't hear the shout from Sirius to the children to run. He didn't hear Harry trying to quickly lead his friends to safety. He didn't even hear when Remus called Apollos name.
The older man watching as Apollo began to shake in anger. Most of the others had began to leave whilst the order prepared to defend them but Apollo still hadn't moved, and therefore neither had Lee who stood beside him, loyal til the end. Lee looked between Apollo and Fenrir with a mixture of fear and understanding. He held his wand up shakily as he pointed it at the beast.
Apollo also had his wand drawn at Fenrir. But unlike Lee, his hand was steady. He didn't need words or incantations at that moment. His emotions were all the fuel his magic needed. Bright, searing light shot from his wand. Burning the flesh on Greybacks shoulders when it made contact. The half-wolf howling in pain made a move to lunge at Apollo but Apollo kept firing vicious magic at him. Screams of anguish ripping through him as he advanced on his parent's killer.
"Where's your brother? I wanted so desperately to meet him." Greyback growled.
"You leave him alone!" Apollo yelled back.
"I thought I told you in that letter Apollo. I won't stop until I have you both in my pack"
"I'll kill you before you ever get the chance!"
The two continued duelling, leaving destruction in their wake. This ruined the evacuation plan the Order had started working on as suddenly death eaters jumped in to join the attack. There was no holding back and every spell that was known, was being used in some form of attack. Harry firing disarming spell after disarming spell. Ginny Weasley blowing things up around them. Luna was surprisingly methodical in her attacks, seemingly plucking the perfect spell for each moment and executing it perfectly. She was a tactician compared to the Ron, Seamus, Dean and Neville who were aiming for maximum damage without much thought. Lee was in a defensive position around Apollo who was too offensive in his own attack to watch his own back.
The Order of the Phoenix watched as the younger ones became relentless. They were like miniature versions of themselves. Fighting like they'd been trained to fight as a team for years. They knew each other's strengths and weaknesses, slotting themselves perfectly into place to be a well oiled machine.
Remus watched dumbfounded. A hand on Sirius shoulder but he wasn't sure if the gesture was to comfort his friend or himself. Remus had felt a small part of his soul shatter when he first saw the face of Fenrir Greyback staring right back at him when he entered the room. Old suppressed childhood memories resurfacing and bringing with them the nightmares he caused.
The room seemed to expand around them. Groups breaking off into separate, smaller battles. Members of the Order filtering easily into the routine the students had formed. Like practised task-forces they were pushing the death eaters back. Ginny, Luna, Neville and Tonks taking on two cloaked characters in a far corner. Seamus, Dean and Mad-Eye in another fight. Apollo and Lee taking on a frenzied Greyback alone but handling the situation rather well. Ron and Hermione working together with Kingsley Shacklebolt to take on several Death Eaters at once, including Malfoy.
