Kiara took a deep breath, her resolve steeling as she prepared to put her plan into action. This was their last chance, his last chance, to escape, and she would fight tooth and nail to make it happen. She summoned the maid who had accompanied her last time, her trusted ally in this dangerous game.
"Meet me at the dungeon tonight," Kiara instructed in a hushed tone. "We must be swift and silent."
The maid nodded, her eyes filled with determination and loyalty. She understood the gravity of the situation and was prepared to assist Kiara in any way she could.
As night fell, shrouding the palace in darkness, Kiara dressed in a simple local costume, blending in with the shadows. She waited in her room, her heart pounding with anticipation and fear. Every tick of the clock brought her closer to the moment of truth.
Finally, the time came. She slipped out of her room, moving silently through the dimly lit corridors. The palace, usually bustling with activity, was now eerily quiet. The guards were fewer, their watch less vigilant under the cover of night.
She met the maid near the entrance to the dungeon, and together, they navigated the dark halls. The flickering torchlight cast ominous shadows on the walls, but Kiara's determination kept her moving forward. She could feel the weight of the task ahead, but also the hope of freedom driving her onward.
As they approached the dungeon, Kiara's heart pounded harder. This was where Eklavya was imprisoned, the man she loved and the key to her escape. Kiara nodded to the maid, who skillfully distracted the guard's while Kiara slipped past, her movements silent and precise.
Descending the cold, stone steps into the depths of the dungeon, Kiara felt a surge of urgency. Every moment counted. She reached Eklavya's cell and saw him standing there, a mixture of hope and anxiety in his eyes.
"Eklavya," she whispered urgently, unlocking the cell door with trembling hands.
Eklavya stepped out, his expression a mix of relief and determination. "I knew you'd come," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
Kiara glanced around, ensuring they were alone before outlining their escape plan. "The wedding festivities have started. Only three days are left, and we need to escape before that. Please, Eklavya, do something."
Eklavya nodded, absorbing every detail with a calm resolve. "Love, I want you to be patient. Rahagir and I have already crafted a plan. He has allies outside the kingdom who will launch an attack on the jail on the wedding day. You just need to find a way outside the palace and hide. Once Rahagir's men distract and overcome the guards, I will find you, and we will escape together."
Kiara's eyes widened with hope and fear. "And how will we leave the palace grounds unnoticed?"
Eklavya squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Once we're out, we'll head to the river. There's a boat waiting for us, arranged by Rahagir. It will take us to the neighboring kingdom, where we'll be safe."
Kiara felt a surge of determination mixed with anxiety. "I understand. I'll find a way to slip out of the palace during the chaos."
Eklavya's gaze softened as he looked into her eyes. "We'll make it, Kiara. Together."
They stood in silence for a moment, letting the gravity of their plan settle in. Kiara knew the risks, but she also knew that this was their only chance for freedom. She leaned into Eklavya's embrace, drawing strength from his presence.
