You were walking down near liyue harbor during a moonlit time of day, the stars pleading to be seen by those beneath. Your hand reached up to the north star that shone with pride and joy, as you squinted to see the uncontainable glow that swirled towards your eyes. The night was eternal; fulfilled with beauty and harmony.

Beginning to continue your path, you came to realise no one was around at this hour. It was unusual, that was for sure. "11pm.", you muttered under your bitter breath. The time however did not make you stop your travels as this kind of night was not to come by again.

As you walked further into the distance, you saw a slim figure perching on a beam nearby to the crystalline waters that engulfed the city's glamour. He was rather short, with choppy emerald locks that spun in the wind's movements, and a translucent engraving down his forearm that was appealing to gaze upon.

He glared at you, his eyes penetrating examining your body. "A mortal." he stated, folding his arms whilst looking back at the soft waves of the ocean. Obviously, you were a mortal. "Yes, a mortal named Y/N. What is that to you?" His murderous eyes shot at your beaming face. "I don't associate myself with mortals, pesky annoying mortals." You seemed offended by his words as you begun to walk closer, but before you could walk anymore, his eyes forced you to stifle. "Seriously? Get lost." You chuckled as his temper begun to rise. "What is your issue with me? I'm just walking." You teased as he kissed his teeth. "I'm a working adeptus, meaning i require to stay here solitary."

"An adeptus you say?"
"Yes?"
"Tell me more."

He dropped down from the beam and pulled out his pole arm as a strong aura surrounded his body, a cloud tugging onto the hidden hairs on his arms, a mist trailing down his harsh & torn skin.

"Continue your stroll, mortal. My role in Liyue does not need to be discussed as it does not affect you in any way. But, if you do require my assistance, just call my name, Adeptus Xiao."

You gulped as his raspy voice was perfectly composed, sending riots down your eardrums. Without a minute to spare, you nodded hurriedly.

"Farewell." And just like that, he disappeared into the atmosphere. Your eyes spun as you wondered where he had gone. "'Adeptus Xiao," you repeated, "he seems interesting."

You smiled before pursuing your walk, hoping to encounter Xiao again in the future, if not later if you stay up any longer.

Slowly skipping, you were enjoying your walk down Liyue harbor. However you were beginning to become tired. You settled next to a wooden beam that was fairly uncomfortable for your back, but your stamina was fairly low so you rested anyway.

Your eyelids gently closed as your h/c hair swirled forwards infront of your face, tickling your nose the slightest. It wasn't the most ideal position to nap in, but you couldn't have made it home with such low energy. Before you could fall asleep completely, you had remembered who to call for help, however it wasn't much of an emergency. "Xiao...?" you mumbled, hoping your subtle voice could be heard. It seemed to not have worked so you allowed yourself to drift to sleep in the slowest way possible.

"You called?" A voice echoed infront of you as your body shook, eyelids springing open to see Xiao standing infront of your limp body.

"I did call for you, yes."
"What is the issue, Y/N?"
"I'm insanely tired so i've decided to sleep here, but i'm afraid of dangers around me."

Xiao stared into your soul as your body shuddered. "Are you being serious?" His tone was somewhat frightening, a bellowing evil voice that could harm or kill. "Quite serious..." you breathed out as he rolled his eyes & crossing his arms. The silence dominated over the wind chiming as you glanced at him, the way he was stood was so effortlessly beautiful, a simple yet beautiful stance. "So, are you going to help or not? Or are you just going to stand there?"

"I guess i'll stay; it is indeed my job... I'll be here until the sun rises, but don't begin thinking this will happen often, because this is a one-off situation." his voice low and shaky as you looked at his flushed face. "Thank you, Xiao."

The glow of the moon begun to settle down as the sun peeked from the bottom, whilst Xiao was resting against an evergreen tree nearby your frozen body next to the timber beam. "The sun has risen, Y/N, i will be taking my leave now." You heard his voice beginning to travel closer to you, however you lay there falsely pretending you were still asleep. "Still asleep? So be it. This will not happen again, goodbye Y/N."

Fluttering an eyelid open, you realised Xiao had left. "Gosh, he was so beautiful last night," you whispered to yourself as you fidgeted with your hands, "We'll see what happens today... hopefully not too eventful."
