We pull up at Ady's parents house, it is surprisingly large. But then again I was used to both of our basic studio apartments by this point and time, plus I don't feel my compound of a house growing up counted as a normal house. I was nervous as we made our way into the house, how was this going to go? Was I going to screw something up, maybe I had done something wrong? I push the thoughts out of my head as Kelsie and I am guessing their father come down the hallway from another room towards us.

"Hey guys, I was wondering when you were finally going to make it here." Announces Kelsie while pulling each of us in for a big hug. I have to give the girl she was always enthusiastic, I think it was how much she looked up to her older sister though. I know I used to do that with mine.

"Hi honey it is so good to see you." Says the man while practically swallowing Ady's small frame in his arms. He then turns to me. "I have to guess you are Faith. It is so nice to meet you."

As he goes to also pull me in for a hug that I am sure would match Ady's, I see Stacy go beside him and casually put her arm through his, holding him in place. I mentally thank her for her actions, its not that hugs upset me per say. I just didn't really get them growing up and now they just make me realize what I didn't have. I take in Ady's parents standing in front of me and can see where Kelsie gets her more delicate features from now.

Not that Ady doesn't look like her mother but her facial features match her dad's so much more than her moms. Both of the girls have their mothers kindness, but the happiness coming from this man its obvious where they get that from. Ben has dark hair that is thinning slightly on the top of his head, he is decently tall, probably close to 6 foot if not over slightly.

"Faith this is my husband and the kids father Ben." Says Stacy pulling me out of the thoughts I was following a gentle smile on her face.

"It is so nice to meet you both. I hear about you all the time, thank you so much for having me." I tell them honestly.

"Oh its fine you can come anytime. Everyone is welcome here." Ben says happily before clapping his hands together. "Alright I have to get back to the kitchen, I am working on dinner. It should be ready soon now that everyone is here."

Confusion goes through me for multiple reasons, I thought that Adeline's mom said her brother was going to be here too but I don't see anyone else as I follow the girls into the living room. Then number two Ben is cooking by himself, now after leaving home I quickly realized that men can and do cook. But he is married he has a family and is still the one cooking, by himself at that. Stacy, Adeline nor Kelsie are helping him or offer help to him, is this a special occasion? I must have a look of confusion on my face because I hear Ady's voice calling my name realizing that I had zoned out from their conversation.

"Hey you good over there Faith?" Ady says gently touching her fingertips to my knee. We were sitting side by side on a cream colored loveseat in a well lit living room.

"Huh, oh yeah I am fine. Does your dad need any help?" I ask turning to look over my shoulder where I am guessing the kitchen is, at least that is the direction he had gone.

"Oh he loves cooking for people. We would just be interfering with his process if we tried to help him." She says laughing at the end of her statement.

"Oh, ok." I say softly unsure what to say to that.

"So Faith, I know that you and Adeline work together. How did the two of you meet?" Stacy asks me. Genuine interest reflecting across her features.

"We actually met at work. I started at the company we both work at just in a different position when I first moved to the city. When I got a promotion a little while after I had started, they moved me to the same department as her, my desk was and still is right next to hers. Probably a questionable choice on their part, given how much work we don't get done because of the closeness." I say hoping that my mentioning us not doing our best possible work won't get Ady or myself in trouble.
