Happiness. That's all the Indian players felt. Raw emotions is what they felt. Rohit lay down on the ground after the last ball and cried happy tears. Hardik who bowled the last bowl finally let out the tears he was hiding since IPL. Virat standing near the boundary felt every single emotions going through him. He was crying but they were not tears of sadness but of happiness. He was hugged by many of his teammates but he was waiting for that one hug.
Rohit who was lying on the ground was finally standing and was hugging his teammates but his eyes were finding Virat and when he finally finds him, both Virat and Rohit hugged each other tightly and Virat hid his face in Rohit's neck.
"I'm so proud of you." Virat whispered in Rohit ears.
"I'm proud of you as well." Rohit whispered to Virat.
They parted from their hug to hug others. They were given medals and the trophy but saddest part was Virat and Rohit announced their retirement.
At the hotel, Virat was pacing in his room. He wanted to meet Rohit. Virat sighed and went towards Rohit's room.
He knocked on the door and door was opened by Ritika.
"Hey, Vi. Congratulations." Ritika said and hugged him.
"Thank you, Rits." Virat said.
"Tum logo ke iss dumb rift rumors ke wajah se I couldn't even hug you on the field." Ritika said.
Samaira saw Virat and ran towards him.
"Vi chachu." Samaira shouted.
Virat picked her up and kissed her forehead.
"Where's Ro?" Virat asked.
"Tumhara boyfriend abhi tak post match presentation se waapas hi nahi aaya. Aa raha hoga. Jaise hi aata hai, I will call you." Ritika said.
"Accha. You enjoyed the game, princess?" Virat asked.
"Yes, chachu. I absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the most when you were batting." Samaira said.
"Accha. I will also teach you how to bat." Virat said.
Virat talked to Samaira for a while before Samaira's eyes started getting droopy.
"I think Samaira should sleep now, Rits. I will also go to my room now." Virat said.
Virat hugged Ritika and kissed Samaira's forehead before heading towards his room. He opened his door only to get a mini heart attack.
Rohit jumped in front of him suddenly, scaring Virat.
"Geez Ro. You scared the shit out of me. I have two kids for god sake." Virat said, clutching his chest.
Rohit was laughing uncontrollably. Virat was happy to finally see Rohit laughing like this. Rohit sobered up and hugged Virat tightly.
"We have done it, Vi. We have done it." Rohit said.
"I know. You have no idea how proud I am." Virat said.
"I'm also proud of you. Of us and of our teammates." Rohit said.
Virat chuckled.
"Spoken like a true captain." Virat commented.
Rohit and Virat broke thier embrace and sat on the bed.
"Humne retirement leke sahi kiya na?" Virat asked.
"Of course, Vi. Yeh pehle se bhi decided tha. We will win the T20 WC and announce our retirement from T20 format." Rohit said.
"Haan but kitne log disappointed hue honge. Kitne logo ko dukh hua hoga. Humare fans, jo genuinely hume idolize karte hai unhe kitna dukh hua hoga." Virat said sadly
"Dekh, genuine fans ko bura laga hoga but they would understand yaar. Tu kitna overthink karta hai?" Rohit asked, irritated.
"Accha mere bhai. Maaf kar de. Khush?" Virat said, joining his hands.
Rohit chuckled and pulled him to his side.
"Aaj dekha maine tune Hardik ko kiss kiya. Saale main tera dost hu, tune aaj tak mere ko toh nahi kiya." Virat complained.
"Yeh rift waali bakchodi ka woh kiska tha?" Rohit asked.
"Tha toh mera hi." Virat said and pouted.
Rohit chuckled and gave him a kiss on his cheeks.
"Khush?" Rohit asked.
"Bahut khush." Virat said
"Ek baat bata. Tune usme kaha tha na ki "once I retire, you won't see me for a while"? Tu mujhe bhi contact nahi karega?" Rohit asked.
"Apne pehli biwi se kaise dur reh sakta hu main?" Virat said, cupping his cheeks.
"Maar dunga, behenchod." Rohit said.
"Aee yeh mera dialogue hai."
"Tu answer de na, Vi." Rohit asked, desperately.
"Yeh kaise ho sakta hai ki main tujhe na contact karu. Yeh tu khud hi nahi hone dega. Tu mera pata laga lega. Anushka hi bata degi ki hum kaha hai. Tu aa jaayega mere ko mere baccho ke saamne maarne. Isse accha yahi hai ki tere se contact bana ke rakhu. Tu toh mera bestfriend hai na." Virat said and hugged Rohit.
"Bestfriend hai apan but saath me woh bhi hai."
"Abey kya woh?"
"Arey jo Rits aur Nushkie ek dusre ko bolti hai."
"Platonic Soulmate?" Virat asked.
"Haan, platonic soulmate hai tu mera. Tu mera brother from another mother hai. Tu aur tere family ke bina meri aur mere family ki zindagi puri nahi hai." Rohit said.
"Itna pyaar karta hai tu mujhse?" Virat asked.
"Hadd se jyada. If there's no Ko then there's no Ro." Rohit said.
Virat and Rohit were crying silently in each other's arms.
"Ab yeh so called rift end kar de?" Rohit asked.
"Sochunga." Virat said, smirking.
"Tujhse jyada harami aadmi maine apni zindagi me nahi dekha." Rohit said.
"Oh shut up. You know you love me."
"Unfortunately, I do." Rohit said and sighed.
"I love you too." Virat said.
"I know."
WE WON THE T20 WORLD CUP 2024. I'M LEGIT SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. EVERYONE WAS REMARKABLE YESTERDAY. ARSHDEEP, JASPRIT AND HARDIK'S BOWLING WAS JUST *CHEF KISS*.
WHAT I AM SAD ABOUT IS ROHIT AND VIRAT ANNOUNCED THEIR RETIREMENT FROM T20 FORMAT. IT MADE ME REALISE THAT MY IDOLS ARE GETTING OLD AND MY CHILDHOOD IS OFFICIALLY OVER.
WHEN VIRAT ANNOUNCED HIS, I KNEW IN MY HEART THAT ROHIT IS GOING TO RETIRE AS WELL AND HE DID ANNOUNCE HIS T20 RETIREMENT IN POST MATCH PRESENTATION. WITHOUT KO, THERE'S NO RO. WE GENUINE FANS ARE SAD BUT WE UNDERSTAND AND RESPECT THEIR DECISIONS. I KNOW EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US ROHIRAT FANS ARE PROUD TO CALL THEM OUR IDOL.
