Caspian comforted me the whole night and did not leave my side. He even apologized for opening that topic. I want to be mad at him, but how could I? When he made me feel like I was not alone and that I was allowed to feel upset over that topic,

"Can you really work, Yael? "He asks and looks at me with eyes full of concern.

"I have an important meeting to attend, and it's Monday. I need to make a report for last week's finance, plus they already ruined my childhood. I will not let them affect my job."

Tanging tango lamang ang naging sagot nya sakin.

Pag pasok namin sa building bulungan agad ang nanaig, kaya alam ko na agad ang nangyari.

"Gumawa na sila ng announcement" saad ni Caspian habang nakatingin sa isang malaking screen sa entrance ng building dahilan upang mapatingin din ako doon.

"They really love surprising us, huh? "I said and laughed at this stupid idea of them having Caspian wrap his arm around my arm, acting as if we were a loving couple.

"Please don't embarrass me," he said in a low voice. Out of respect for him, I smiled and acted as if we were a couple. I don't want to embarrass him, as he is a good friend.

"Let's go to my dad's office."

The moment I entered my dad's office, tension arose as I looked at them.

"Both of you really like to surprise me, huh? "I said in such a disbelieved voice.

"I told you we would announce it the moment you moved out," Mom said.

"You should've also announced that the loving head of Windward is cheating on each other," I said, completely ignoring the fact that Caspian is here, as were his parents. After saying those words, silence filled the room.

"Expect my two weeks notice this day," I said, leaving the room as if I had not just ruined my parents' image with the Mintz family. I heard Caspian shout my name, but I ignored it and went to my table to pack up my stuff.

"Yael, we need to go now; your parents are furious," Caspian said, pulling my wrist to the nearest elevator.

"Why did you say that? Dude, we are doomed; your parents are so damn upset," he exclaimed, looking at me.

"I want to give them two weeks notice before we leave. I already did that a month ago. I want them to know that I can do shit without them," I said, pressing the button on their floor and holding my two-week notice. Caspian, who is tailing me just in case I do something that I might regret later,

"This is my two-week notice," I said, and I put the notice on my father's table. He is throwing daggers at me, probably out of embarrassment at my little tantrum earlier.

"YOU HAVE GUTS TO SHOW YOUR FACE AFTER EMBARRASSING ME AND YOUR MOTHER EARLIER."

"The only thing we share is our stupid last name, and if I can, I will change it," I said, but before I could say another word, a punch hit my face as my father attacked me while cursing my name.

"YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN BE BORN; YOU CAN DIE NOW AND I WILL NOT CARE."

"Yeah??? But remember, once I die, you cannot use me to invest in the Mintz family. You need me, but you are afraid to admit that because you know that the moment I step out of being quiet, I can defeat you." I said that knowing that those words were like a slap in the face for him.
