The sizzling of eggs could be heard in the kitchen of the Beowulf household. Elizabeth, having already readied herself for the day, wore an apron over her outfit and moved around the kitchen with a positive hum to the tunes played on the radio on the counter.
She laid out strips of bacon onto four different plates as the sounds of footsteps coming down the stairs became known to her. She perked up and gave her daughters a warm smile, placing the frying pan back onto the top of the stove.
"Good morning, my beautiful gems." Elizabeth greeted, "The both of you are looking radiant as ever."
"Thanks, mama!" Ruby says with a happy smile.
"Radiant?" Jade asked with a quirked brow, "We haven't even showered yet."
"Naturally radiant serves as a bigger compliment then," Elizabeth replied.
"I mean...you're not wrong," Jade said with a smirk and a flip of her hair.
Ruby gasped as she looked at one of the plates, "Mama! Is that what I think it is!?"
"You did not make a Together Breakfast," Jade said in surprise as she looked at the plate of stacked waffles, slathered in syrup with a whipped cream spread on top, surrounded by sprinkles of popcorn and a strawberry on the spread to top it off.
"I did in fact make a Together Breakfast," Elizabeth confirmed.
"Is it my birthday!?" Ruby exclaimed as she ran over and hugged Elizabeth with an excited scream.
The front door opened, and a shirtless Derek entered, walking to the kitchen with a concerned look.
"I heard a scream. Is everything okay?" Derek asked in concern.
"Everything is fine, Derek. Ruby was just expressing her love for my cooking." Elizabeth said with a chuckle as Ruby started taking selfies with the Together Breakfast.
"The wolves back in Manhattan are gonna be so jealous!" Ruby said as she struck another pose with the food.
"Are you a male stripper or something? Why is your shirt off, sir!?" Jade questioned with a raised eyebrow aimed towards Derek.
"I was working out." Derek simply replied with a shrug.
"Just because you're working out, doesn't mean you have to show the whole damn neighborhood all of...that," Jade said as she referred to Derek's body.
"You just gestured to all of me," Derek said in offense.
"I know," Jade replied with a nod.
"Ignore her, Big D-" Ruby started, but Jade chimed in.
"Don't call him that," Jade said to her.
"Ignore her, Little D." Ruby reiterated, "She just doesn't want everyone else seeing what she could get to see privately."
"Eww! No!" Jade exclaimed, "That is so untrue."
"If it is then why do you keep looking back at his six-pack?" Ruby asked with a smirk as she looked at Derek, "It's great by the way."
"W-Well...I..." Jade said as she looked between the three of them speechless and a slight blush adorning her face.
Whatever she would have to say would be interrupted by the ding of the toaster and Elizabeth chuckled as she collected the last bit of toast and finished with the eggs.
"Children, please prepare the table for breakfast if you will," Elizabeth told them.
"On it, Mama," Ruby said as she went to the dining room.
