Dylan's Pov

"Would you like to join me and my mother for dinner tonight?" She asked.

"Only because of this stupid dare," I said before rolling my eyes.

I lied right through my teeth. It wasn't because of the dare. It was because I actually wanted to. I was actually starting to get a thing for Cassandra. I know it sounded crazy but I do.

"Do you need a ride home?" I asked.

"No, I have my car. Thank you for asking me though," she smiled while digging through her bag for her keys.

"What time do you want me to come over?" I asked.

"Whenever you want to Dylan," she stated walking towards her car and unlocking the door.

"Alright, text me."

"I will!" she shouted climbing inside of her car and shutting the door.

She drove off and I was by myself. Again. I liked it better when she was by my side. What am I talking about? I can't let this happen. Last time I liked somebody she "moved away". I can't get attached. I know she isn't going anywhere for nine months but what is she runs after the dare is over? I don't want to be hurt.

I walked towards my truck and grabbed my keys unlocking the car and climbed in. I drove home and parked in the driveway. When I climbed out of the car my little brother Blake came running to me.

"D! D!" he shouted.

"Hi Blake," I said lifting him up.

I carried him in side after I closed my car door. My mother looked at me and smiled.

"He has a your eyes," she stated.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes D. Why did you come home so late?" she asked.

"I was with Cass," I said debating wether or not to tell her that She and I are "dating".

"Cassandra? I thought you hated her?" she questioned.

"Can't hate somebody you are dating mom," I remarked.

"Awh!" she squealed. "Now go wash up for dinner."

"Actually I was going to go change because Cassandra's mom invited me over for dinner," I retorted.

"Alright. Just make sure you buy flowers!" she shouted as I was walking upstairs.

I went into my room and plopped down on my bed thinking of what I should wear. I ripped my phone out of my back pocket and pulled up Cassie's contact.

Hey what should I wear? -D

Jeans and a T-shirt is fine Dylan. My mom won't care. -Cas

My mom thinks we are dating now..😂 -D

Well I guess I might want to inform my mom we are "dating". -Cas

Have fun with that. I'll be there in an hour. -D

Alrighty see you soon Dylan.. -Cas

... -D

She never messaged me back after I sent her the heart. Oh well. I grabbed a pair of my faded jeans and a navy blue T-shirt. After putting on my low top converse I grabbed my keys and wallet. I called Allison while I headed out the front door.

What?

Cassandra's favorite flowers now?

Blood red roses and daisies.

Thank you.

You're welcome Dylan.

I hung up the phone and headed to the flower store. I got a dozen roses and a dozen daisies mixed together. I paid for them then walked back to my car. I placed the flowers in the passenger seat and drove over to her house.

When I was at her house I grabbed the flowers and got out of my car. I knocked on her door and her mother answered.

"Dylan! What a nice Suprise," she said hugging me.

"Hi Mrs. Rykes. How are you?" I asked.

"Clarissa. Oh I'm good. Come on in! Are these for Cassie?" she asked.

"Oh yeah here," I said handing her the flowers.

"She will love these. She is upstairs getting ready for dinner still," she said.

I started laughing as we walked into the living room.

Cassandra's Pov

"Mom where are my glasses!" I shouted.

"In your bathroom!" she shouted back.

"Thank you!"

I rushed into my bathroom popping out my contacts and putting my glasses on. My eyes were so dry from my contacts. Anything to be pretty though.

I fixed my grey sweater and shorts then I took off my make up. I overheard my mom talking to somebody. Dylan must be here. I grabbed my phone and put it in my back pocket and walked downstairs.

I saw Dylan in the living room talking to Mom and there was a vase of my favorite flowers sitting there. He saw me and smiled.

He looked amazing. I just don't know how to respond to that last text he sent me. It was a heart for God sakes. Dylan sent me a message with a heart.

I readjusted my glasses and finished walking downstairs. Dylan looked at me funny. Right, he doesn't know I have glasses until now.

"Mom is dinner almost ready?" I asked.

"Let me go check on it now," she said standing up.

"I'll help you really quick," I smiled walking to the kitchen.

My mom walked to the oven and opened it.

"Dylan and I are dating," I spat.

"Well I could've guessed that since you were with him after school, he came here for dinner, and he brought your favorite flowers," she laughed.

"Okay well he and I are going to go up to my room and talk," I stated walking to Dylan.

He smiled at me and I grabbed his hand.

"Come with me," I begged pulling him up.

He stood up and hugged me. He whispered in my ear.

"You look beautiful," he stated.

I smiled and we walked upstairs and turned left into my room. Dylan closed the door behind him and turned me around to face him. He pulled me close and smiled.

"You never messaged me back," he pouted.

"Well I didn't really now how to respond to this," I said pulling up his heart message.

"You're supposed to respond with a heart," he laughed.

"Well I don't need to respond now since you are here," I smiled.

"But maybe I want to know how you would respond," he said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Just respond to it Cass," he said laughing.

I pulled up his and I's messages and messaged him.

He read the message and smiled. He hugged me tight.
