Nicole's POV

"Mom, whos this?" Georgie's mom asks.

Goerige steps out and also gives a confused look, "Nicole, are you here to see me? Look, I'm really sorry for lying to you about my age, and I hope you'll forgive me and give me another chance.'

"Georgie?" Connie scolds, pushing him back inside as I followed her.

Once at the table, everyone soon gathered and sat down.

"Nicole, you look amazing." Georgie smiles.

"Thanks." Connie sat between Goergie and I. I nod a thank you to her. "What do all of you do for jobs?"

"I work for the church, George works at the school as the football coach." Mary speaks.

"How do you know Georgie?" George asks. "Hope he didn't do something stupid."

"The landry mat, but I'm not sure it's what Nicole is here to discuss the break up." Connie interject, Connie turns her attention to Goergie, "buckle up because you got a lot of responsibility coming your way."

"What did you do?" George disappointedly looks at Georgie.

Georgie scratched his head, "I don't know, I mean, I lied about my age, but come on. She's smoking hot." He paused, then pointed out I had lied about my age as well.

I am only two years older than him.

"Enough, Georgie. This beautiful girl is afraid to tell you, but I ain't. Nicole is pregnant, and it's your baby."

"WHAT!" His family shouts.

"George Marshall Cooper!" His mom whispers. She turns to me, "Nicole, I hope you don't hold anything against our family for his mistakes."

"Mary."

Georgie and Connie look at me, Georgie assures me a little that he will be there for the baby and me.

"Look, I'm not expecting you to jump into this, okay? I can handle this alone."

"Nicole." Connie, stops me.

Mary turns to Georgie's younger siblings, asking them to leave the room. The girl agrued saying Georgie is their sibling and how there the baby's family too.

"Stop, this isn't gonna change what happened."

I rushed out of the room, heading for the street. The night sky cool air was welcoming. Connie understood that I wasn't ready to tell Georgie, but we live in the same town, and I'm gonna grow this baby as time goes.

"Hey." Someone calls from the front door.

Looking back, it was Connie, Mary, and Missy. "You don't need to come out here. I'm fine, go back inside and eat."

Mary shook her head and placed her hands in mine. "Please come back in, we would love to get to know more about you and how we can help you and the baby."

"Mary, stop. The girl has enough on her plate without you trying to push your beliefs on her." Connie agrued.

"What do you mean?" I ask, crossing my arms to stay warm.

Mary takes a moment to speak, "I just think you and Georgie need to talk this out and get married before the baby is born."

Looking at Connie, "Is she serious?"

"It's overbearing." Missy admits, Mary gives Missy a stern look. "What it's the truth."

"I should go." I wish them a goodnight and leave.

Missy's POV

"Well, that was interesting."

As mom, dad, and Memaw confront Georgie. Scolding him. Sheldon, of course, is not paying any attention to the conversation.

"Sheldon, are you listening to this?"

"Why, would I?" He comments, "it seems clear. Georgie's gonna be a dad."

"Missy's right, you should be more involved since it's your brother." Paige adds.

"What are you gonna do?" Sheldon asks.

"I don't know. I'd like to talk to her more and maybe see what I can do to help."

"You'll be doing a lot more than that, Georgie. If word gets out about this, we could all be judged." Mom explains.

"So what? He made a mistake. We had done the same thing when you got pregnant with him."

Mom picked at her food with a disgusted look. "So marrying me was a mistake?"

"Oooh." Paige and I giggle.

"Enough, everyone go and eat in your rooms." Mom mumbles in anger.

"No, I want to stay and listen." I agrued.

"Me too." Paige pleads.

"Go." Mom points to the hallway.

One Week Later

Georgie's POV

"Are you okay?" Missy asks, entering the garage after me.

"I can't believe I'm gonna be a dad. I don't know what I'm gonna do."

Missy pulled me into a hug as we both cried. "Nicole and the baby will be lucky to have you in their life."

"Thanks."

"Georgie?" Mom asks, tapping on the door, "Can I come in?"

"Do you want me to stay?" Missy asks.

"Please."

"Hello?" Mom asks, confused.

"Come in."

As mom closed the door behind her, she stood few feet from Georgie and I.

"Mom, if you're here to yell at me about Nicole and the baby, don't." Georgie starts.

"Georgie, we could get kicked out of the church because of this."

"Why does it matter. Nicole might never talk to me again or let me be part of her and the baby's life."

As mom paced back and forth, she stopped, "let me talk to her. Maybe she needs a mother's advice."
