Lily POV

August 30, 2021

I was sitting in a secret lab below my cousin's house listening to a girl I didn't know have a mental breakdown.

"Daisy! Calm down!" Alice exclaimed.

"Calm down! Calm down?! How do you expect me to calm down?! You threw a rock at my head, then brought me to your secret underwater hideout with gadgets and shit, told me that it wasn't a rock and I have superpowers, and now you ask me to calm down?! Forgive me if this is a little much to process!" Daisy yelled back.

Rose opened her mouth and then shut it a moment later. She had decided not to speak, which, for the first time, I thought was a good idea.

"Can someone please explain this slowly and clearly so I might be able to understand it?" Daisy asked, staring daggers at Rose.

Rose inhaled slowly. I could practically see the gears turning in her abnormally large brain. She began to speak, "I accidentally released ancient spirits called elements. The elements join with a person to amplify the magic they were given by the last elementals. They have finally been released after being trapped for around 30 years, and you have one."

"That's exactly what you said earlier, and it makes just as little sense now as it did then." She said, then she leaned over to whisper to Scorpius, "Scorp, do you think this is safe considering..." She said some other things that I couldn't hear from where I was.

"No, but I'm sure it will be fine." Scorpius said.

"Yeah! Always have faith and hope, broski. Even if I have no idea what you're talking about." I added.

"Okay, so what magic do I have?" Daisy asked.

"You have the power of the moon." Rose said. "It allows you to have the ability to control gravity and a supernatural talent with archery and magic."

"Shouldn't we look for the next element?" Scorpius asked.

"Yeah. That's a good idea." Rose said. "As you could probably tell from the sun and the moon, most of the minor elements are set in pairs, stronger together than they ever could be apart. I suggest that the minor elements get to know their partner, as you will often be stuck working with each other."

I watched as Daisy looked around. "Who's the sun, then?" She asked.

"Oh, that's me!" Freddie said. He had stayed in the shadows for most of the conversation. He held out his hand for Daisy to shake. Daisy stared at him for a moment, as if it were all a trick and he would attack her, but she apparently saw no threat and reluctantly shook his hand. "I'm Freddie."

"Daisy." She replied.

"Great!" Rose said. "Now you know each other. Let's move on. We already have half of the next set of elements, so it shouldn't take long." She turned to stare at her younger brother, who was standing in a corner against a wall, playing with some sort of gemstone.

"Hey, put that down!" She yelled. Hugo flinched and carefully set the crystal down on the table.

"What were you talking about?" He asked, then hesitated for a moment, as if he couldn't find the right words. Then he continued with, "I wasn't listening when you were talking."

Rose looked like she was about to pull all the hair out of her head. She took a second to breathe before speaking. Rose then explained everything she had said before about the secondary elements. "You got it now?" She asked.

"I think so." Hugo said.

"Great. So as I said, we already have ice, which is Hugo, so we need heat."

"Cool. So where's the circle? I wanna get out of here. This is boring." I said.

"Alice?" Rose glanced at her friend. Alice looked back at her as if she wasn't expecting Rose to talk to her. "Get the orange one."

She went over to the huge bin of circles. Looking at it emphasized how much of an absolute genius Rose was. She made every single one of these, and Scorpius said it only took around an hour. She found the orange thing and handed it to Rose.

"Thanks!" She said. She looked at the rest of us, "You guys ready to run?" Everyone nodded, and Rose released the sphere of power.
