Medusa POV

August 30, 2021

I walked around the grocery store. There were no signs of Daisy. She went to get groceries about an hour ago, and I was getting worried. I walked into the store.

"Excuse me?" I asked the worker. "Was there a girl with really puffy hair with space clips in here earlier?"

"I'll need more information on this girl."

"She has dark skin and gray eyes. About this tall?" I moved my hand to about how tall Daisy was, an inch above my height.

"Oh yeah, she was in here."

"Did you see where she went?" I asked.

"I don't know, but she left with a group of kids." They said.

"Okay, thank you." I left the store. That hadn't helped me at all, but my luck was better than I had assumed, because thirty seconds after leaving the store, a group of kids, Daisy in the middle, were running my way. Excited, I started walking towards them. Then something hit me, hard. I stumbled backwards, shocked by the impact. My nose had started bleeding, and you could tell by looking at the thing. It was a black disc, dark as ink. The kids looked really guilty, so I assumed it was their frisbee or something.

I grabbed one of them by the shirt and held my fist above her face. "What is with you!?" I yelled, "You nearly killed me!"

"Yeesh," she gently moved my hand away from her head, "you must be fun at parties."

She walked away. Her friend snickered.

"Daisy." I called, "We need to go."

"I... need to stay. So do you." Daisy told me.

"What?" I wiped my nose and cleaned the blood with my shirt.

"Um, you're the death elemental." The girl I threatened spat.

"Elementals? Like, the holders of the construct of the universe that are all-powerful when assembled correctly and grouped together?" I said in one breath, "And I'm one of them?" A smirk grew on my face.

"Wow." A girl with dark auburn hair and sea green eyes stepped in front of me, "You've read on this subject?"

"Sure." I responded.

"Well, that makes my life easier."

"Two left." A woman with short blonde hair trailing behind the group held a bucket of multicolored disks, like the one that hit me in the nose. She grabbed the pink one and let it fly out into town. I assumed that one was love.

We ran after it for about a block when it smashed into a house closest to the river.

"My window!" A woman's voice boomed from inside.

I leaned over to a younger boy—about thirteen—and whispered, "You know you're gonna have to pay for all this property damage, right?"

Wide-eyed, he ran over to the redhead from earlier. "Rosie—"

We continued on to the white house. Rose knocked on the door. "Hello! Did you happen to have a pink circle fly into your house?"

A girl stepped into view. Dark hair with pink accents and angered, piercing eyes.

"Yeah." She spat, "Are you the one paying for it?"

Rose turned, "Hey, Lily, don't you have a job?" She whispered.

"No can do boss." Lily returned, "Spent it all on plants."

"Useless." I muttered.

"How could you say that to Spoo, bitch?!"

"Okay," Rose said to her, "calm down."

"Tell that to her." Lily pointed at me.

Rose turned back to the girl, "Maybe we will pay for it. Answer the question."

She held up the disc. "Yeah, yeah. What do you want?"

"You're a superhero." I said, grudgingly.

She burst into laughter. "Is this a joke?"

"No, it's not–"

"Sal." She offered.

"No, it's not, Sal." Rose continued to explain.

"So now you want me to help you and get the rest of your little crew set up?"

"Yeah, pretty much." A boy about my age said.

"Do I have a choice?"

"No, not really." Rose told her.

"Fine." Sal said nonchalantly.
