THE COUNCIL CHAMBER WAS filled with a heavy, oppressive silence. Damian and Gabriel stood at the center, surrounded by a small group of their most trusted allies. The air was thick with tension as they discussed their next move to reclaim the throne and restore order to the kingdom.

"How could this happen?" Sir Thomas muttered, shaking his head in disbelief. "Who could have orchestrated such a betrayal?"

Gabriel's eyes were sharp, his mind racing as he considered the possibilities. "We need to find out who the traitors are," he said, his voice firm. "We can't afford to trust the wrong people."

Damian nodded, his expression grim. "We start with those closest to us. We need to root out the traitors from within."

The meeting continued, each person contributing their thoughts and suspicions. As the discussion went on, a servant entered the chamber, carrying a small, sealed letter.

"My lord," the servant said, bowing deeply. "This letter was found hidden in the princess's quarters."

Damian's eyes widened, and he reached out to take the letter. He broke the seal and unfolded the parchment, his eyes scanning the words quickly. As he read, his expression shifted from confusion to anger, and finally to a deep, painful realization.

Gabriel watched Damian closely, his heart pounding in his chest. "What is it?" He asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.

Damian looked up, his eyes meeting Gabriel's. "It's from Isabella," He said, his voice thick with emotion. "She's been in contact with the traitors. This letter details their plans to overthrow me and take control of the kingdom."

The room fell into stunned silence as the weight of Damian's words sank in. Gabriel felt a cold chill run down his spine. He had suspected treachery, but never had he imagined it would come from someone so close.

"We need to confront her," Sir Thomas said, his voice low and dangerous. "We need to know why she did this."

Damian took a deep breath, steadying himself. "You're right," He said, his voice firm. "We need answers."

The group moved swiftly, making their way through the palace to Isabella's quarters. As they approached, Damian's heart ached with every step. He couldn't believe that his own sister could betray him so deeply.

They reached her door, and Damian hesitated for a moment before pushing it open. Inside, Isabella stood by the window, her back to them. She turned slowly, her expression unreadable.

"Isabella," Damian said, his voice filled with pain. "We need to talk."

Her eyes flickered with something—guilt, perhaps, or defiance. "What is it, Damian?" She asked, her voice calm and composed.

Damian held up the letter. "We found this in your quarters. It details your plans to overthrow me. How could you do this?"

Isabella's face hardened, and she squared her shoulders. "You were never meant to find that," she said quietly. "But now that you have, there's no point in denying it."

Gabriel felt a surge of anger and betrayal. "Why, Isabella? Why betray your own brother?"

She met his gaze, her eyes cold and resolute. "Because the kingdom needs a leader who understands the future," She said. "Not someone clinging to the past."

Damian's eyes narrowed, a storm brewing in their depths. "The past?" He repeated, his voice rising. "Is that what you think this is about? This is about loyalty, honor, and the people we swore to protect!"

Isabella shook her head, a sad smile playing on her lips. "You never understood, Damian. Father's ways are outdated. Our people need progress, not tradition."
