Jhoanna said her goodbyes to the others as it was time to go home, reassuring Sheena and the rest that she would be fine and waiting for someone.

Glancing at her phone for any messages, Jho patiently waited for her dear cousin who had promised to pick her up after school and take her to the apartment they had discussed.

Asan na kaya ayun?  Jho wonders as she sends a text message to her cousin.

Jhoanna: Ate Aiah, andito na ako sa labas ng school, sa may waiting area.

Aiah: Okay Jho! On my way na there. See you!

Satisfied, Jhoanna scrolled through her phone to pass the time, her fingers deftly tapping and swiping across the screen. The minutes ticked by, and she became engrossed in her social media feed, losing track of her surroundings.

As she focused on her screen, she heard footsteps approaching. The sound grew louder, echoing slightly in the quiet hallway. Moments later, someone stood a short distance from her, casting a shadow that caught her attention.

Looking up, Jhoanna was surprised to see the person standing there.

"Vergara!?" she exclaimed, using Colet's last name instead of her first. The formality of her address did not go unnoticed by Colet, who raised an eyebrow in response.

Jho blurted out, "Akala ko umuwi na kayo nila Sheena," her surprise evident at seeing Colet unexpectedly. Jho immediately regretted speaking without thinking, as an awkward silence filled the air and embarrassment washed over her.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, Colet finally replied, "May hinihintay din ako," her tone calm yet betraying a hint of reservation.

The brief exchange left Jho feeling unsettled, the awkwardness lingering between them like an uninvited guest.

Nodding slowly, Jhoanna stood awkwardly, unsure what to say next. What now? Ang awkward naman neto, she thought.

Fidgeting with her hands and glancing at her phone, she hoped her cousin would arrive soon.

A few minutes later, a car pulled up in front of Jhoanna and Colet. The window rolled down, revealing her smiling cousin, which amused Jhoanna.

Aiah got out of the car and approached Jhoanna, hugging her tightly. It was clear that Jhoanna had been missed by her cousin, and she couldn't deny feeling the same way.

The embrace brought a sense of relief, breaking the tension of the moment.

"Teka, Ate Aiah, kailan ka pa natutong mag-drive?" Jhoanna asked as she was released from the embrace.

"Oh, I'm not the one driving this car," Aiah shook her head.

"She is." Aiah gestured towards the other woman in the car, who waved with a friendly smile.
