I woke up to find it was already night. I jolted in surprise because when I turned to face the front, I saw Jadel there.

The guy was sitting comfortably, his arms crossed and his head bowed, his eyes closed as if he were asleep.

I also looked at my foot, which was resting on his thigh, so I quickly removed it. I even heard him groan.

I cleared my throat, which caused him to open his eyes. I saw the tiredness in his eyes even though he tried to hide it with a smile.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

I rolled my eyes at him and stood up, brushing off my skirt before facing him. I was surprised when he stood up too.

"Anong bigat? I'm fine kaya dzuh."

"I know you, Emy. Nakita kita kanina."

I hadn't even taken two steps when he pulled me towards him, forcing me to face him. He held my waist, and our eyes locked.

He scanned my whole face, his gaze lingering on my lips. I don't know why, but I closed my eyes.

"Hindi ka talaga madadala sa mabuting usapan ah, may pa pikit pikit ka pa as if hahalikan kita."

I immediately opened my eyes because of what he said. I was about to complain when he lifted me up like a sack of potatoes.

"What the fuck?! Jadel! Put me down! You moron!"

I struggled, punching him in the back.

"Stop it, or I'll drop you."

I was surprised when he plopped me down on the seat of a motorcycle.

"Kaninong motor 'to?"

"Saakin." simpleng sagot nya.

He didn't bother to answer, instead, he scooped me up like a sack of flour and settled me on his motorcycle seat. Before I could even register what was happening, he was already securing the helmet on my head, his touch a jolt of unexpected heat against my skin.

My breath caught in my throat as I stole a glimpse of him.  His long, dark lashes cast a shadow over eyes the color of rich earth, and his lips, thin and full, were the shade of a blooming rose na siguro masarap hali— What was I doing, letting myself get lost in the depths of his gaze?

i mean masarap bangasan! oo bangasan! ang sarap—

"Layo Mr. Ramirez baka masapak kita."
