Chapter 3: Happy Little Working Song

Back in Andalasia, as soon as Pip had told Edwina that Ghislain was in danger, she rushed over to the well where Ghislain was thrown down.

"Fear not, Ghislain! I shall rescue you!" Edwina proclaimed as she dived down the well.

"Yeah, but who's gonna rescue MEEEEEE?!" Pip shouted as he followed the princess down the well, wanting to help her rescue his best friend.

In New York City, a bunch of construction workers were standing around the manhole in the middle of the street. They had received reports of a man crawling out of it, so they decided to investigate.

As they were in the middle of work, Edwina suddenly shot up from the manhole.

"Hey, lady! You ain't-" One of the construction workers yelled.

"SILENCE!" Edwina shouted, before pointing her sword towards the construction worker.

"Guys, I got it." The construction worked assured when his coworkers stepped forward.

"Your name, peasant! Quickly!" Edwina commanded.

"Arty."

"Are you in league with the wicked old hag that sent my poor Ghislain to this fowl place,  Arty?"

Before Arty could answer, Pip flew out of the manhole, landing on Edwina's palm. "Is this man party to this evil plot, chipmunk?" The Princess asked.

Pip tried to answer, but instead, it came out in squeaks. He covered his mouth with his paw. He coughed, thinking he just had something in his throat. But when he tried talking again, it only came out in squeaks once again. He covered his mouth with his paw again, realizing he couldn't talk.

"Aw, poor chipmunk. Speechless in my presence." Edwina shrugged it off. She then shoved Arty against a truck and aimed her sword at his neck.

"What say you, sir? Don't try my patience!" She threatened.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." Arty stuttered in fear.

"I seek a handsome man. My other half, my one coquette, the answer to my love's duet." Edwina explained.

"I'd like to find something like that too, ya know?"

At that, Edwina backed off. "Then keep a wary eye out, Artie." She smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Come along, Pip!" Edwina called before running off into the street, Pip following behind her.

"Are you okay?" The other construction workers asked Artie. The group then watched as Edwina jumped onto top of a car, before getting yelled at and honked by the driver.

"Did you see that chipmunk?" Arty asked.

Meanwhile, back in (Name) and Morgan's apartment, Ghislain woke up with a yawn. He stretched his arms up before shoving some of his hair out of his face.

He looked around and noticed the place was a mess.
Papers were scattered all over the coffee table and chairs, even on the floor. In the kitchen, pots, plates, and food were all over the table and counter.

"Oh no...this just won't do at all." Ghislain shook his head.

A smile then keep to Ghislain's face as he came up with an idea. He opened up a window and cupped his left hand around his mouth. He began singing his animal callout.
