"I don't believe her." stated nellie loudly looking me in the eye. "do you believe her babe?" she asked her girlfriend jade who was sitting in the corner with a book in her lap.

the three of us were currently sat in jades (soon to be nellie and jades) apartment. it was located in a much nicer part of new york, and must of cost quite a bit - but jade came from a rich family so there was no problem.

lucky bitch.

jade looked up, a warm smile planted on her face as she looked over at nellie. "if you don't believe her, stop asking questions." she scolds and nellie grins.

"i cant help it. now is everything you've been telling me true, or are you just high?"

jade bursts into laughter - pure admiration on her face as her eyes met with nellies.

"its the truth. he grabbed me, and we started dancing and-"

"you're sure it was the same guy as before."

"positive. he admitted it and he had the exact same face."

"ew creepy." nellie laughs.

it had been almost one week since that monday night. it was now sunday evening and i had told dennis i was staying over at friends house.

i just really wanted to get out of that fucking house, and dennis was begining to anger me more than ever.

oh and another thing.

my cigarettes keep going missing.

that night after the we left the night club, i had felt into my bag and they weren't they. i knew i hadn't dropped them which came to the conclusion that some little thief had stolen them. even though it was the second time in a day that it had happened i thought it would be a one off thing but boy how wrong i was.

everyday, i've been missing an extra one cigarette that i knew i hadn't smoked the previous night.

i was thankful that the thief hadn't took the entire pack, but still!

i already smoked enough as it is a day, and i didn't need some kid on the streets stealing them all.

jade got up from her chair, and declaired that she was going to make dinner. on her way to the kitchen she planted a kiss on nellies forehead and nellie returned the favour by giving her butt a sqeeuze. jade squealed and ran to the kitchen laughing.

i grinned, at their relationship - but it also made me quite sad as i knew i'd never have anything close to what they did.

nellie was in a bad place at the time she had met jade - she came from a rough family who never treated her right, and she was basically killing herself through drug and alcohol use because of her depression. jade helped her a lot, and despite their differences they really are perfect for each other.

jade was more of your sterotypical 'pristine girl', except underneath she really wasn't like that at all. she did come from a rich family, but she didn't enjoy their company and they hers as they didn't approve of her coming out as a lesbian. they always help provide for her but jade never sees them.

they'd been together for 4 and a half years now and nellie was soon moving into jades apartment seeing as she practically lives here anyway.

i peered over at nellie. she had medium length dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and think dark eyebrows that wouldn't look good on anyone but her.

i only realised i was staring when jade walks in and laughs. "edith, you're staring at nellie like you're about to eat her."

i shake my head to myself, put my finger up at jade and rolled my eyes.

"that's your job babe." nellie grins at her seductivly, and i groan putting my hands over my ears.

"i dont want to hear about your lesbian sex life guyss!" i whine and they both chuckle.

"sorry." jade smiles patting my head as she walks back into the kitchen to continue making dinner. i sigh and pull a cigarette out of nellies pack that was lying on the table.

mine had all been stolen or used.

"hey." she complains as i begin to light it, but she doesn't sound mad. "she'll kill you, you know she hate the smoke in here."

i look blankly at her, and open the window.

nellie smirks, "like that made all the difference." but she doesn't say anything else about it. "how is dennis?" she scoffs. i laugh and she frowns trying to hide a smile. "its wrong what youdo to him you know that right?"

"yeh i know, but it is better than me living on the streets right?"

"yeah but you basically use him for shelter, money, cigarettes and se-"

"please do not say sex." i groan.

"what? you two don't?" she questions. nellie is a sucker for gossip.

"of course we do its just-"

"what? just what?" she pushes.

"boring. depressing. i don't know. its just shit sex. same old same old boring old sex." i sigh and take a long drag.

"dump him." she states.

i roll my eyes and look at her. "come on nellie, you know why i cant."

"no i really dont understand. why cant you? because you wont have a place to stay or someone to buy you your daily pack of marlboros?"

"yes."

"come on edith, you know how wrong that is dont you?"

"yeh i do, i just-"

"just what? look break up with the colorless rainbow, and come move in with us for a while until youget your own place. it's big enough!" waving her hands out in front of her.

"but im never going to be able to get my own place nellie. don't you understand. i will never be able to afford it. even with my crappy job at the record store." i lied. i loved it there, it was so comferting.

"we both know why that is." she states.

i narrow my eyes at her. "i would not need so many if the theif would stop stealing them." she sighed.

"dinner!" jade calls from the other room and we both stand to make our way over to the table.

"what was his name again?" she whispered in my ear.

"michael." i whisper back. "his name was michael."
