"Ughhh" I sigh, rolling around in my bed, my overthinking keeping me up. I have been hiding from my Mom for the rest of the weekend, praying for her to just forget about everything with me and Eli. I didn't realize how complicated this would become when I first kissed him. Not to say that I want to take it back at all! Just saying that it's going to be a sticky situation if it continues. Just as I say that in my head, I hear someone open my door and I immediately put my head down and pretend to sleep.
"Casiebug...." My mom says, "we need to talk" when I hear that I know she isn't happy, I need to find a lie to undo this quick. I sit up and look at her while she stands in front of my bed. Only a lamp is on in my room so it is pretty dark but I can still see.
"Is there anything you want to tell me about? Anything concerning your brothers best, and until about two days ago, his ONLY friend?" She says with disappointment in her tone and face.
"Mom, I swear nothing is going on with me and him" I say and she does a condescending head tilt that says 'oh realllyyyyyy'
"Then what did I see in the kitchen yesterday? I didn't know grabbing a straw also included holding hands and heart eyes" she said and I immediately I fought back.
"Mom....." I started "he was just worried about me, okay? Nothing is going on with me and him, he just thought I looked sick and it was because I was hungover, okay!" I said as my eyes start to tear up, my mom hates when I drink outside of her house, or when it's not just a sip of something. I knew that when I said this she would forget all about me and Eli.
"So you've been drinking" she says and I nod, "and he really was just making sure you where okay?" I nod again. She opens her arms up and I run into them, her hands cradling the back of my head. I feel like shit lying to her, but it feels like my only option right now. We separate and she looks down on me and sighs.
" no more parties" she says and I nod, " I love you Cassie, thank you for telling me. And.. I'm sorry about the whole Eli mess, I know you would never do anything to hurt Demetri like that." She says as she walks out of the room.
What have I done!
I APPOLOGIZE FOR SUCH A SHORT CHAPTER BUT THE NEXT ONE WILL BE FAIRLY LONG SO I HOPE THAT MAKES UP FOR IT!
I just think that this little moment will be important later on :)
