A/N: Hey guys! So I have to leave a side note here to say that I apologize for not updating this since November of 2022. The reason I didn't update this more last year like I wanted to was because alot went on and found a different interest, I was so much focused on it that I didn't have the time or drive to update this more. I was originally going to post more chapters this year but I have some more fanfics that I'm planning to work on and have the huge drive, and passion to write. So I decided to end this series right here and make it into a 3 part one shot series instead. It would be for the best for me and it would be less stressful, to be honest.
BUT on the bright side, I WILL be planning some more Stranger Things fanfics in the future and very soon, so look out for that :)
Also, I wanna say and address is that I do not take requests, so please do not send me any. Just a heads up! Thank you!
One last thing, this Stranger Things what if one shot is set in the late 90s as a "90s AU" because OBVIOUSLY Pokemon didn't exist in the 80s lol so yes I was gonna set this in "90s AU" for this idea to work.
Enjoy!

What If...The Party Was Into Pokemon Rather Than DnD?
"HA! Told you I'd beat you!" Dustin laughed as he defeated Mike in the Pokemon trading game.
"I almost had you, man!" Mike groans and shakes his head in defeat, chuckling.
"Well, what'd you expect using a fire type against a water type?" Dustin says, rolling his eyes. "Like come ON, man!"
"It was the only Pokemon I had on my team left, did I really have a choice since you knocked all of mine out?"
"Hey man, you should have had a better strategy and you would have won" Dustin argued, teasing Mike.
As Mike and Dustin bantered over their Pokémon battle card game, Eleven sat on the blue armchair near the table where she watched her friends were playing this card game called "Pokemon" in Mike's basement.
She was intrigued by the concept of Pokemon, it was a world where fantastical creatures with unique abilities existed alongside humans, forming bonds of friendship and trust. When she was first introduced to the games and the anime, she was concerned about the Pokemon getting hurt in battles, Mike reassured her that the Pokemon are okay and can be fully recovered, which eased her worries a bit.
She is happy that there are mostly trainers that love their Pokemon beyond battling and see them as friends, however, when she was watching the Pokemon anime, there was an episode called "Charmander, The Stray Pokemon, she also realized that trainers can abandon and abuse their Pokemon just because they don't fit the trainer's high expectations and standards. She felt deeply for the Charmander just waiting there on that rock waiting for its trainer to return when he had no intentions to come back.
