Although Damian wasn't the president of Ostania or a great politician at the age of 7, he felt that he was the center of the world at that moment.
His birthday was the day where he could forget about his problems and stress, because during those 24 hours he was celebrating the birth of Eden's best student, at least in his imagination. When he woke up, he was greeted in his room by the smiles of Emile and Ewen and with some biscuits so he could have a good breakfast. That gesture was much appreciated by Damian, who thanked them with a big smile on his face. From that moment on, he knew that his birthday was going to be the best.
In class, he was greeted by all his classmates, with each one highlighting something great about him. He even managed to receive a little recognition from some of his teachers. At recess, he played and laughed non-stop, jumping the rope or playing cops and robbers. Those hours were amazing for him, but by the end of class, it was time for him to go celebrate with his family at home.
He knew that his whole family was probably absent or just too busy to celebrate with him. Because he didn't want to spend a birthday alone at home; he decided to invite his entire class for a party. He wanted everyone to attend to play with him and to see the luxuries he had in his home. Without hesitation, they all agreed to go.
All his classmates showed up: Bill, Becky, George, even Anya. Although it had been a last-minute party, it seemed that they had all made time to attend his home, all being welcomed like kings in a palace. And although Damian was a child, for that age he knew how to be a good host. His charisma and image stood out, there was no doubt about that.
The party went off without a hitch. The guests were having a good time with Damian playing in his backyard, everyone was enjoying the butlers' food, and even Max had joined in the fun even though many were afraid of him at first glance. The good thing was that the dog was well bred, so there was no problem with him joining the rest of the students.
However, Damian wondered if it had been a good idea to invite Anya. She wasn't that person who technically fit his "criteria" for friendship after having been with her for a year at Eden, plus the fact that she had worn a special dress for his birthday and a new hairstyle made him uncomfortable. She looked like a fool in Damian's words, but inwardly hid the fact that she looked lovely at the time.
Although Anya had a bit of a lack of manners, she wasn't that annoying to him either. Normally she'd be running up and down the halls or making a mess at the table, but right now she was just sitting with Becky, talking about who-knows-what and eating some peanut brittle that was on the head table.
He wanted to think that inviting her to his party had been a bad idea, but deep down he knew he was lying to himself. He enjoyed seeing her at his home.
A few hours later, the most anticipated moment for children at a birthday party finally arrived. The presents.
Although he could have all the luxuries in the world, Damian liked having more things. It made him feel like a little king receiving tributes; besides, those were toys that were going to keep him good company with the rest of his stuff he had in his room.
