She didn't know why she had stayed an extra hour at school, but Anya wanted to think it had been worth the wait.

By this time, the school was thin on students. Some were in extra courses while others were wandering around taking advantage of living in the dorms. It wasn't as crowded as it had been in the morning, making Eden more relaxed. However, there were still a few teachers around who were still supervising the rest to avoid any mishaps inside the school.

Anya was not supposed to be there at that moment. She had planned to go with Becky to try some biscuits and buy some clothes for a nice afternoon, taking advantage of the fact that they had a holiday the next day. She had passed her last exams with the minimum grade and didn't want to hear any more about school these days.

However, to her good or bad luck, Damian asked her that day to stay after school for a while because he had something important to tell her. The thought of giving him a negative answer quickly crossed her mind, however, Becky insisted that she go with him. She had heard the boy's request the moment he spoke to Anya, and for Becky, she saw it as a chance for him to show his feelings of love to her. It was a stretch, but since she wanted to see a love story between the two of them, she told Anya that they could move their outing to another day.

Now she stood there, in the middle of one of Eden's corridors, waiting for Damian to come by and tell her what was on his mind. He was taking too long, though, and she knew that if he didn't show up to talk to her in time, the last bus of the afternoon was going to leave her. For a moment she thought he had played a practical joke on her and she felt like punching him again when she saw him, however, she heard a familiar voice that shook that thought away in an instant.

"I'm surprised you came. I thought you'd ignore me."

Anya turned to look at her friend, who was still wearing his school uniform while in one of his hands he carried a small bag. He looked around, making sure that only Anya and himself were present.

"Anya wanted to leave already."

"You must be patient Forger; besides, you know I'm not one that breaks promises. Of course I was going to come here."

Damian could be annoying, but Anya couldn't deny that he was right. Somehow or other, his honor made him a man of his word. And that was very remarkable about him. Still, she wanted to know Damian's true intentions and see if he hadn't wasted her time.

"What do you want to tell Anya?" she asked innocently.

Damian took a deep breath, as if preparing to give an important speech. It took him a few seconds, but he raised the bag in his hands to Anya, offering it to her.

"What's that, Sy-on boy?"

"Did you forget about the cake I was going to give you? You know, about our bet."

It was there that Anya's mind began to spark. She'd forgotten that she'd made a little bet with him weeks ago, in which she had to pass the exams they'd had a few days ago. If she passed, he had to give her a cake; and if she failed, she had to do whatever he said for a whole day.

To Damian's bad luck, he lost. And now he was accepting his defeat.

The reason he wanted to give her the cake after school was to avoid anyone seeing him in broad daylight handing it to Anya. Sure, some students came by from time to time, but these were upperclassmen who weren't interested in seeing the two interact. Besides, the boy still remembered the past incident with Professor Henderson when he tried to give Anya a cake, which ended up with both students in his office for being late for class.

Damian knew that after school was the best time to deliver the cake, so he was relieved when he learned that Anya had accepted his invitation.

Anya's smile instantly lifted after learning of Damian's intentions. For the second time in her life, she was going to receive a cake from Damian.
