Joker stared up at the large, white stoned castle that dwarfed the city surrounding it and let out a hearty laugh. "That's a big castle if I've ever seen one! You'd think the king might be compensating for something!" He jeered. He placed his hand onto his white mask that had a black covering the top right side of it and lifted it up a little so the surrounding people could see his mouth. "There's no way around this job though, so off i go!" He exclaimed before cartwheeling towards the castle. His pitch black hair fell downwards as he rolled to the gates and stopped letting his black travelers cloak fall over his gray shirt and blue jeans which were a new form of fashion that was slowly rising in popularity.

Inside the castle a young, blonde haired woman wearing an elegant, crimson red gown hid behind a large, red curtain as a woman with similar features searched around frantically for her. "Maria! Maria where are you?" She yelled. "Come now your father and brother are in the throne room awaiting for your escorts arrival."
"Mother I do not wish to marry such a man!" Maria yelled from behind the curtains. Her mother walked over to the curtains and Maria cupped a hand over he mouth as she mourned her mistake. The curtains fluttered high into he air as her mother dragged her out from behind them.
"Sweetheart I know it's tough but it's for the good of the country, if you don't marry prince Gaul of Osland there will be a war." She explained.
"Oh, that's a load of bull, father just wants me to marry Gaul so he can merge the two countries into one." Maria shot back.
Her mother put her hand over her mouth and gasped. "Have I taught you nothing? Never use such vulgar language as that ever again!"
"Oh, mother when will you learn that not everything is going to go according to how you want it to!" Maria exclaimed before giving up and storming off towards the throne room.
Her mother smiled slightly. "Yet, you're heading towards the throne room, my beloved daughter." She muttered before picking up her dress and following her daughter down the long hallway.

Joker entered the throne room with gusto and made his way towards the center of the throne room. At the far end where the golden throne was sat an elderly man with gray and white hairs that were combed back to give him a sophisticated look. His skin was worn with age and he had wrinkle lines all over him.
Joker looked around and saw that there was no one else in the room except for the king, queen and their two children. One was a tall, young man with short, combed back, blonde hair. He wore a finely made, black vest and dress pants along with a thick fur cloak and regular, leather boots that seemed out of place with the rest of his outfit. The other child, who Joker assumed was his sister, as they had the same blonde hair except that hers was allowed to run down her back and over her shoulders.
Joker looked her over and thought to himself that she was nothing more than a spoiled brat as she wore nothing but elegant cloths. From her Crimson red gown to her ruby, red necklace everything about her screamed that she had never once gone out of this castle.
"Ah you must be Joker, the famous mercenary who once took on a whole army by himself." The king said.
Joker snickered. "Yeah, if you decided to believe those rumors, it was more of a battalion than an army."
"In any case I summoned you here because I'm in need of you skills to escort my daughter and son to Osland." The king said while ignoring Joker's words. As the king talked Joker's eyes wanders the walls and he couldn't help but notice the large tapestries of the king decapitating his foes and riding into battle bravely on horseback.
"Definitely compensating for something." Joker muttered to himself as he stared back at the king on his throne. Joker doubts that the king has ever seen real combat.
"What was that?" The king asked.
"Oh, I was just asking about my compensation for this job, it's rather tiresome having to drag around two royals especially when they'll be nothing but a burden in a fight." Joker said bluntly.
"How dare you, I'll have you know that my son had been trained by the best swordsman in the land and can face down a troll." The king said. Joker held up his hand and turned to the King's son.
"Kid be straight with me, have you actually ever been in an actual fight where you might die?" He asked.
"No, and father he's right."
"See, now then you make me an offer and I'll see if it's worth it." Joker said. "The east grows more and more dangerous by the day and I don't feel like risking my life for a measly few coins." The king stared at joker with a fire in his eyes and was about to snap his fingers to signal to the guards when joker have him a deathly stare that went straight through him. "I wouldn't if I were you."
The king gulped as he lowered his hands. "Ah, well as for your payment I have decided on 80,000 gold would suffice."
Joker grinned under his mask as he rubbed his hands together. "You have a deal, now if you don't mind tell your children to meet me in front of the main gates tomorrow morning." He said before striding over towards the door he came in from. "I haven't been back to Floryn in a long time, I'm dying to take a sip of Floryn beer again."
