tangled in panic.

The evening sun cast a warm glow through the window of the Kishimoto and Ibrahim household. Juliette, Aaron, Kenji, and Nazeera sat around the couch, a shared moment of relaxation and camaraderie. The sound of Kenji squealing at the sight of the childish movie highly requested by him fills the room.

Nestled against her husband, Juliette and Aaron were cuddling on the corner of the couch. His mischievous hands snaked around her waist and caressed the soft flesh hidden beneath her navy long sleeve top. Her head rested on his shoulder, perfectly fitted together as if a puzzle piece.

Juliette smiled as she listened to Kenji sing along to the lyrics of the film, questioning when would his life begin in particular.

Her heart was light with the joy of being surrounded by her closest friends. Her love of her life and husband, her best friend, and someone who was practically her sister. However, as the movie progressed, a wave of dizziness washed over Juliette, causing her vision to blur momentarily.

Perfectly timed with that moment, the blonde decided to check if his Juliette was still awake. And even despite being in a completely dim room, Aaron—being the observant and protective husband he was—immediately noticed the change in his wife's demeanour. Concern flickered across his features.

"Are you okay, darling?" he whispered quietly, placing his hand which was wrapped around her waist, onto her thigh gently.

Juliette tried to smile reassuringly, but a wave of nausea swept over her, causing her to pale further. She put all negatives aside though, and leaned into his radiating warmth. "I should be fine, love. I just feel a bit dizzy," Juliette soothed.

Aaron didn't believe her attempt at lying, but he nodded hesitantly and caressed the soft flesh of her thigh in comfort.

Juliette thought she could last until the end of their hangout, or at least the end of the movie.

Her feeling of faintness did not in fact get better as she had believed. She couldn't even focus on the movie, nor even detect what scene Kenji was currently screaming at that moment.

Juliette was drowning and there wasn't a moment of calm in the waves.

As the film's climax approached, the tension in the room grew palpable, both on and off the screen. The overwhelming scene of the music swelled, colours growing brighter and the characters' voices sounding more urgent. Yet, it was not the excitement of the movie that had hold of Juliette; it was the grip of a panic attack, squeezing the air from her lungs like a dying sigh.

Juliette tried to swallow, but her throat was dry, the sound of her own breathing deafening in her ears.

She gripped almost instinctively on Aaron's hand, splayed across her thigh in a form of comfort, her throat feeling as if it was closing in on her. Oxygen suddenly didn't exist in the house, and it was not helping Juliette's case.

Aaron felt a gentle but forceful grasp on the back of his hand. A number of thoughts ran through his head, seeing that earlier Juliette was seeming to be ill.
