Betty opened her mouth to add more to her theory but was cut off by the creaking sound of the old door opening and in stepped a young girl wearing tight skinny jeans and a crop top. She had dirty blonde hair tied up in a messy bun and her cheeks were rosy, probably from the aftermath of practice. "You must me Daisy?" Betty stated as more of a question.
The blonde nodded, "yes, I wanted to talk to you about Colleen and Alison."
Jughead shot Betty a look, based on Daisy's nervous and rigid behavior, he assumed she was extremely uncomfortable and that whatever she was going to say, would most likely not be repeated.
"Come on over here, we can talk in my office." Betty offered, picking up on both Jughead and Daisy's signals.
Daisy nodded and awkwardly shuffled her feet as she followed the two of them into Betty's office.
Daisy sat down in the plush chair by Betty's desk and glanced around the room, like she was afraid of something or someone would jump out at her. "Want anything to drink?" Jughead offered, Daisy's cheeks flushed in response, she tore her eyes away from him and responded with in muted voice.
"No thank you."
"Is it okay if I record our conversation?" Betty asked kindly, Daisy nodded in response.
"So, Danica and Hadley told me that you saw Mr. Thacker and Colleen after practice one day, can you tell me more about that?"
Jughead tried to brush off the fact that she didn't say 'we' or 'us' at all. But before he could give Betty a look, Daisy answered.
"It was about 2 weeks before Colleen and the others were..." Daisy swallowed, "murdered. I was in the locker room after practice and Alison was waiting with me. She was my best friend on the team and she and I were planning on going back to my house to study and practice our new routine." Daisy explained.
"Anyways, we were in the locker room and Alison was giggling. I was packing my clothes away from practice when I asked her, 'what is so funny?'"
"Alison told me to come over to the door and she and I peered through it, there we saw Colleen and Mr. Thacker yelling at each other in the hallway. All the other girls and coach Fellows had already left and I don't think either of them saw or heard us giggling." Daisy smiled, thinking back to that day.
"I remember Alison turning to me with this look in her eyes as she said, 'we should follow them.' Alison never liked Colleen and liked to get any kind of dirt on her she could. And based on their argument, it didn't sound like they were fighting about her grade." Daisy paused only to answer Jughead's question.
"Wait, you said Alison didn't like Colleen?"
Daisy looked at Jughead like he'd just asked the dumbest question ever, "yeah. They've hated each other since the second grade."
"So they've had fights before?" Betty added on.
"Uh yeah. I'm surprised Alison didn't get voted as captain, everyone likes her more anyways. But she was never an outspoken leader who demanded attention like Colleen. Anyways--" Daisy tried to continue her story but Jughead had another question.
"According to Hadley and Danica, Alison dated Jude Harland right?"
Daisy's face lit up. Betty knew that face, lots of stories, gossip and girl talks were behind Jude's name. Betty should know that look, her and Veronica used to do that a lot when they were younger. "Oh yes. Alison was sooo in love with Jude. They went and did everything together. But Al always made time to hangout with me, we've always been best friends." Daisy grinned.
