I was a liar, I gave in to the fire
I know I should've fought it, at least I'm bein' honest
Feel like a failure 'cause I know that I failed you
I should've done you better 'cause you don't want a liar
you everything
But, boy, I couldn't give it to you
And I know, and I know, and I know that you got everything
But I got nothin' here without you
So, one last time
I need to be the one who takes you home
One more time
I promise after that, I'll let you go
Baby, I don't care if you got her in your heart
All I really care is you wake up in my arms
One last time
I need to be the one who takes you home
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★As I gazed at the sky, a deep sense of longing washed over me. It felt like it was time to go home, to be with my family again. The endless expanse of the sky seemed to mirror the distance that had grown between us. I realized just how much I missed them. Memories of our time together flooded my mind—laughing around the dinner table, sharing stories late into the night, the warmth of their hugs. How long has it been since I last saw them? The thought tugged at my heart, filling me with a bittersweet ache.
I tried to recall the exact moment I had left, but the days had blurred into weeks, and the weeks into months in to years. It felt like an eternity since I had heard their voices or seen their faces. The worry and uncertainty of their well-being weighed heavily on my mind. Were they safe? Were they happy? I hope they're doing well.
The idea of returning home filled me with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. Would they welcome me back with open arms? Or had things changed in my absence? The longing to find out was overpowering. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the journey ahead, determined to close the gap that had kept us apart for so long. It was time to go home.
"I guess it's time to go home and see them," I thought, a smile spreading across my face. The longing to reunite with my family filled my heart as I stood up and prepared to open a portal. I gathered my energy, focusing intently on the image of home. As the portal finally shimmered into existence, its swirling colors beckoned me forward.
I took a deep breath and stepped through the portal, expecting to be greeted by familiar sights and sounds. But as soon as I crossed the threshold, an unsettling sensation crept over me. The air felt different, heavier somehow, and a chill ran down my spine. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

"Where am I?" I wondered as I slowly opened my eyes. Everything was dark, and I couldn't see a thing. A frown crept across my face as I felt around, discovering I was in a tight, confined space. Panic began to set in as I thought, "How do I get out of here?" My heart started to race, and I struggled to steady my breathing. I stretched my arms and legs, feeling the cold, unyielding walls that surrounded me. There was barely enough room to move. The air felt heavy, almost stifling, and a sense of dread washed over me.
I strained my ears, hoping to catch any sound that might give me a clue about my surroundings, but all I could hear was my own ragged breathing. My mind raced, trying to piece together how I had ended up here, but everything was a blur. The darkness seemed to press in on me, making it harder to think clearly.
As I continued to search for a way out, my fingers brushed against something that felt like a seam or a crack. With renewed hope, I traced the outline, praying it might lead to an exit. "Stay calm," I told myself, though my voice trembled. "You can find a way out of this."
As panic gripped me, I heard a voice on the other side. I opened my mouth to shout for help, but before I could utter a single word, an intense heat enveloped me, making it feel like I was burning up. Flames began to flicker into view, casting eerie shadows in the confined space. Desperation took over as I started banging on the door, my fists pounding against the unyielding surface. "Is anyone out there?" I yelled, hoping beyond hope that someone could hear me and pull me to safety. The flames grew closer, and I could feel the searing heat intensifying with each passing second. My heart raced as I continued to pound on the door, praying for a way out.
"Yes, I am safe," I thought with relief as I emerged from that tight, suffocating space. My heart was still pounding, but the panic was slowly ebbing away. As I looked around, I realized I was cradled in someone's arms. The warmth and security of their embrace were a stark contrast to the fear and darkness I had just escaped.
Now that I had a moment to catch my breath, I began to wonder about my rescuer. Who had caught me? I tilted my head slightly, trying to get a better look at the person holding me. My vision was still a bit blurry from the ordeal, but I could make out a kind face gazing down at me with concern and shock.
The person now held me in a tight embrace, their grip almost desperate. "How is this possible?" they said, their voice trembling with emotion. I could tell they were on the verge of tears. What were they talking about? Were they referring to the fact that I had managed to survive my confinement, or were they shocked that I had been trapped there in the first place?
My head was spinning, and I felt dizzy and disoriented. Words failed me as I tried to make sense of what had just happened. My vision was slowly starting to clear, and I blinked a few times to focus. As the world around me came into sharper view, I finally saw the face of my rescuer.
It was someone I knew—someone I had never expected to see in this moment. The realization hit me like a wave, bringing a mix of shock and relief. It was my...
