I am always yorctured
By the irony that lines the school walls
With thing that say dream on
Don't give up
It's a funny irony that a school should tell you with all the greatest intentions but the worst execution possible
One that says
Do not be who you are
Keep your head down.
Eceyone has the same opportunities here
Of you are smart you will go to college
If you are rich you will go to a good college
If you,are poor we've got your back you can still
Dream on
Everything is fair here
Everything is out there on the table for you to take
Everything is fair game
You will not have room on your scduel to do the things you want
Not that we let you choose anyways
You have options! Let me explain
There is a spectrum you see
Over here are schoolers and over here are dropouts and here is everything in between. Tons of grey you see!
Everything about this place is black and white right or wrong
You are quizzed on your philosophy on books meaning and hidden metaphors what they teach
Yet in learning so much you learn absolutely nothing
Kids are absolutlu right to hate this place
Sure there are pockets of love
They save us
For that we are entireallu grateful
It saves us from drowning in the surrounding sea of numbers
Every kid is a number
NOT. Human
NOT. capeble
Of hearing or feeling or least of all making desisons
The numbers are there to do that for them
After all why have a philosophy class on to kill a movkingburd when all of the kids can discuss what they believe in when they might postionally agrue or get it wrong! The horror. What on earth good be gained from that? Simple.
Your gpa went down three points
To the kid who gets all good marks but never learns why they get marks on what they do. Held to perfection. By themselves. Because its the ONLY thing that's worth something about themselves. Is sent home at the end of the day. Holding back tears. The school systems did get something right. There ARE types of students. In fact there's only two.
School sees this as progress. A way to systematically crush individuality. Because what better way to do that when you only have two groups of students and only one is worth something.
The first group is the good one. The ones who will go far in life. They are organized, and have finely tuned wiring systems. Able to recognize, pick up, attapt, and resease infomstion at anytime. After all, the only way to test a generation's ability to learn is by systematically cramming them full of intonation to memorize, not understand truthfully, not to indivualize or put to use. in the end they must demonstrate their abilties at the end and middle of the year. Numbers are everything. This group will go far however. They get up, and sponge style suck all of the information into their brains, they are efficient, and question very little, some of them will make great politions one day. They learn in the best way, by sucking in the infomatipn and spilling it out when appropriate. They do not argue or wonder why. After all those are useless skills in life! They are the perfect group. And we favor them very much by giving them more opportunity like harder classes! After all they deserve it! Since everyone is treated EXACTLY the same and given EXACTLY the same windows of oppurtunities. God knows children do not have different needs! Do not think breath wonder or learn different from one another! That is why when a student is good enough to join a harder class it is because he/she (not other we do not approve of ANYTHING. Different. Controversial topics are unhelpful. And MUST be avoided at all costs to avoid future hold ups) is worthy of this class and has taken advangatages of the opportunities presented with them. The oppurtunities are based off of skills that natureally EVERYONE must have inside of them, and if they do not preform with these skills it must be there fault!
These skills include, organizeation, passivity to systems and beliefs, the idea that ideas themselves can be measured! And that everyone shares the same ones. That it is a students personal fault when they do not compile to the same orderly fashion as everyone else because as we said, there is no reason why a person, at a younge age, forced to think about there future yet at the same time so unsure they even have one not based off of numbers but personal beliefs, forced to learn the same cutthroat way as hundreds of other simultaneously, forced to share the same beliefs and values of everyone else which include the belief that EVERYONE in the WHOLD WORLD can do anything they want! And those who don't. Lazy.
