Shane Wolsey is a 16 year old wrestler for the Oceanside Sharks, his school's wrestling team. He attends Oceanside High School, just a couple blocks from where he lives, and he's definitely the hot, golden boy of the school.

However, he has a secret side to him which he only shares with his best buddies, Dylan Gordy and Aron Chambers, due to his reputation which he cares all too much about.

Due to his high school wrestling life, he has a muscular build and a piercing jawline. He's 6ft 1 inches tall, and has wavy, mouse brown hair with twinkling sapphire eyes.

The fiery red sun sank subtlety into the vast sky above as the final day of the summer came to an end.
"Ugh back to school tomorrow bro" huffed Dylan as he walked home alongside his friends Aron and Shane. Dylan was also well built, being a wrestler himself. He has dark brown, straitened hair, and pale skin, standing at 5ft 11 inches. "Yeah dude. Back to maths class with Mrs Yankton, the joys" giggled Shane. "You guys ever seen that thing on her nose, it makes me sick every time I sit in maths" added Aron with a disdained look upon his face. Aron has a more rounded build and is a high school footballer, unlike his wrestling friends. He stands at 6ft 4 inches and has short blonde hair. "Urghhhh dude don't remind me" groaned Shane as Dylan laughed.

"Hey dudes, check it out, new chick" said Dylan with not so subtle excitement as he looked over to the far side of the now dark, residential street. "Oh yeah look, she must be the new girl that everyone was talking about last semester" added Shane as he gazed over at the blonde haired girl.
She has shoulder length, glistening blonde hair, gorgeous brown eyes, a slim build, and stands at 5ft 6 inches.

She was helping her farther move boxes into their new house, directly across the street from where Shane lives. "Lucky boy" said Dylan as he pulled Shane into a playful headlock and rubbed his skull with his knuckles. "Get off dude" giggled Shane as he pushed his friend's arms away.

Shane continued home and exchanged a subtle smile with the new girl before saying goodbye to his buddies and heading to bed.

The following day Shane and his friends met at the doors of their school, Oceanside High, before heading to first period. Shane's first class was maths, with the infamous Mrs Yankton. As Shane patiently sat awaiting the start of class, he watched fellow students fill the room. "Hey Shane" said one of the cheerleaders, flirtatiously as she passed him. Being the hot, golden boy, he was very popular with the girls.

Then, just like an angel, she appeared at the doorway, the new girl. Shane gazed uncontrollably as she nervously walked through the numerous wooden desks and sat at the desk in front of him, her golden hair flowing gracefully in the draft as she moved.

"Ugh, where's my pen" Shane overheard as the new girl desperately searched her pockets. "Here" replied Shane as he tapped her tiny shoulder with his spare pen. "Oh, thanks" blushed the new girl as she turned to see Shane sharing the same subtle smile as he had shared the night before.

"You live just across the street right?" she asked innocently, "yeah, Shane" laughed Shane, "Sophie" smiled the girl as she continued to blush. "Alright children, settle yourselves. Turn to page 296, as you will see, we will be covering Trigonometry today" instructed Mrs Yankton as she strutted, almost patronisingly, into the class.

After maths, Shane had English class with Mr Mayson. But Shane didn't take in a singular word of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. All that he could think about was Sophie. How she had blushed every time that he spoke, could it mean that she liked him back? Or was she just being nice?

Shane was awoken from his thoughts by the sound of the lunch bell. Shane stuffed his books into his bag and hastily made his way to the cafeteria, to his usual spot with his friends. As he speed walked through the crowd of hungry teenagers, he turned a corner and knocked into something. It made a cute "ouch" sound as it went down. Shane looked down to apologise, but his face soon turned from one of indifference, to one of horror.

"S.. Sophie? Oh my god, are you ok?" exclaimed Shane as he grasped her tiny hands and gently pulled her to her feet. "Yeah, I think so. Somebody's hungry" giggled Sophie as Shane picked up her books. "What can I say, I'm a growing boy" chuckled Shane as he stood up, holding Sophie's books. "Who you sitting with" smiled Shane, "oh, nobody. I haven't met many friends yet" replied Sophie. "Hey, come sit with me and my pals, they'll be cool with it" suggested Shane, "you sure" asked Sophie, "yeah, c'mon, I'll carry your books for you" answered Shane.

"Hey new girl" said Aron from across the table as Shane and Sophie sat down next to one another, "hey" replied Sophie nervously. "Where's Dylan?" questioned Shane, "just grabbing food" snapped Aron, seeming to dismiss Shane's question. "Has anyone ever told you how gorgeous you are?" asked Aron as his eyes lit up with infatuation, "DUDE" bellowed Shane as Sophie choked on her sandwich in shock. "What?" asked Aron, seemingly oblivious to his awkward question.

Dylan giggled at the scene as he approached and sat beside Aron, "choking on something there?" laughed Dylan, "BRO!" yelled Shane with disbelief at his friends inappropriate comments. "Sorry, sorry" Dylan giggled. Sophie's face had gone red with embarrassment, she quickly scoffed the remainder of her sandwich and left in a hurry, "bye guys" she said as she quickly walked away.
"What's her problem?" asked Aron innocently. "I wonder" snapped Shane as he stood up, slamming his large hands on the table and going after Sophie.

He hurried out into the hallway, but Sophie was nowhere to be seen.

As the school day came to a close, hundreds of spotty faced kids burst out of every door in the school and rushed home to their video games and high school sweethearts. As Shane walked away from Oceanside High, in the direction of home, he spotted Sophie walking nervously ahead of him, seemingly unaware of his presence. Shane was too embarrassed to say anything to her and crossed the road, continuing in the same direction.

"Stalking me now are you" yelled a soft voice from the other side of the street. Shane looked up to see Sophie playfully smiling over at him. A smirk brushed across his face as he made his way across the quiet road. "No. I just live on the same street" Shane giggled innocently. "True" replied Sophie with a soft chuckle. "Hey, sorry about the guys earlier. They can be real jerks" apologised Shane. "Boys will be boys I guess" smiled Sophie.

"Let me walk you home. It's not exactly safe out here" suggested Shane protectively. "I think I can handle myself" argued Sophie with a smirk, "yeah well, I'm a wrestler, so if I come, you got better chances" added Shane almost seductively, "I didn't know you wrestle" said Sophie as she looked up with flirtatious eyes, "well that's because you only met me today" chuckled Shane.

"Who's the girl?" asked Shane's mom, Rose, as the family tucked into their dinner, "what girl?" asked Shane defensively, surprised that she knew about Sophie. "The one I saw you walk home with tonight" challenged mom with furrowed eyebrows, "oh, just a friend" blurted Shane as he quickly stuffed his mouth with mashed potatoes in an attempt to avoid further questioning. "I saw the way you looked at her darling, tell me about her" interrogated mom. Shane just pointed at his bulging mouth with his fork, to indicate that he cannot answer that question.

"Now now dear, leave the boy alone, you remember what we were like at 16" giggled Shane's dad, Arthur. Mom giggled seductively in response, "I definitely do" she said as they shared a kiss. Shane looked at his parents with a sickened expression, "I've lost my appetite" gagged Shane as he quickly proceeded to his bedroom.

As Shane entered his room, he was reminded why Sophie could never know his secret. She could never see this embarrassing side of him, he thought as he gazed upon his numerous posters of Spiderman, Superman, and Batman and Robin, alongside his piles of DC and Marvel comic books and figurines.

That's right, Shane was the hot, wrestling, golden boy of his school.

But he was also. A secret nerd.
