Shane walked home, his mind still puzzled at Sophie's seemingly regretful behaviour.

Just as he was thinking to himself, trying to figure it out, he heard a disturbance from across the street, next to the butchers store. It was Sophie and his supposed friend Aron. Aron had Sophie pinned against the wall of the butchers and was grabbing her face, yelling "NO! FORGET ABOUT HIM! YOU LOVE ME NOW!".

Shane felt his blood boil with an overwhelming sense of rage. Aron, was the reason!? He couldn't believe the betrayal!

Shane sprinted over to the arguing teens and shoulder barged his huge 'freind' away from Sophie. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING BRO!?" Bellowed Shane as he stood between Aron and Sophie. "Mind your own business man!" barked Aron as he grabbed Shane's shoulders, attempting to throw him to the wall, Sophie gasping in a panic as she saw this.

Shane suddenly locked his buff arms around Aron's fat head, also trapping one of his arms. He pulled Aron's face tightly to his chest and stepped into him, throwing him over his hips and slamming Aron onto the concrete ground, outside of the butchers. "OGHH!" Aron moaned with pain as Shane pinned him and twisted his arm behind his back.

"I'm sorry! Dude I'm sorry!" begged Aron.
"Don't you EVER fucking touch her AGAIN!" barked Shane as the veins in his head popped out with fury.

Shane let his now ex-friend go and watched as he ran away moaning with pain. "Oh Shane!" cried Sophie with utter relief as she crashed into his waist and hugged him as tightly as she could. Shane was shocked at the action, and didn't really know how to feel. A girl who just a couple days ago broke his heart, was now suddenly clinging to his waist like a koala to a tree.

Sophie explained that she only avoided him because Aron grew jealous of their relationship and wanted Sophie for himself. He threatened Sophie by saying that he would tell the whole school that Shane was secretly a nerd if she didn't love him instead. She only did it to protect Shane.

"I love you. I'm sorry" sniffled Sophie as she continued to hug the firm, blue-eyed boy.

Pushing her arms away from him, Shane spoke with true pain embedded into his voice.

"You should've told me".

Shane then turned his large back to her, and walked home by himself. Leaving a tearful Sophie weeping outside of the butchers.

The following day, Shane moped sadly into English class. He sat at his usual, boring wooden desk, with an array of gum stuck to the bottom of it from over the years. As he opened his Shakespeare book in preparation for the lesson, a small, folded note fell from the pages.

Intrigued, he opened the soft, folded paper and studied the words written within.

'I'm sorry. I love you'.

He knew instantly who had written the note. It was Sophie. She had uttered the same words to him the day prior outside of the butchers.

"Someone's got a secret admirer" giggled Dylan as he hung his large arm around Shane's shoulders. "Shut up bro" laughed Shane as he pushed his friend down into his seat beside him. Dylan gave a cheeky giggle in response as he too flickered through the pages of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

"Hey dude. You coming to the dance tonight?" asked Dylan. Shane had totally forgotten about the schools annual winter dance! "That's tonight!?" exclaimed Shane with slight panic. "Shit" he added. "It's cool bro. Just throw a suit on and you'll be fine" chuckled Dylan.

"But who will I go with?" questioned Shane. "Go with me...... big boy" winked Dylan mockingly, referring to the nickname that Georgia had used for him at the end of last week.
