Haerin's POV
The next day, I felt a lot more at ease walking into school. Knowing I had Danielle and Hanni as friends made everything less daunting. When the final bell rang, I quickly gathered my things and headed to our designated meeting spot in the library.
Danielle was already there, spreading out some papers and looking focused. Hanni showed up a few minutes later, a huge grin on her face.
"Alright, team," Hanni said, clapping her hands together. "Let's get this show on the road."
We settled into a cozy corner of the library. Danielle pulled out a notebook and started jotting down ideas.
"So," she began, "we need to pick a historical event that we can really dive into. Any ideas?"
I hesitated, not sure what to suggest. History had never been my strongest subject.
"How about the moon landing?" Hanni offered. "It's got drama, science, and it changed the world."
Danielle nodded thoughtfully. "That's a great idea. There's a lot of material we can use. What do you think, Haerin?"
I smiled, feeling more confident. "I like it. We can talk about the space race, the astronauts, and how it impacted society."
"Perfect," Danielle said, writing it down. "Let's divide up the work. We'll need to research different aspects and then bring it all together."
We spent the next hour brainstorming and assigning tasks. Hanni was in charge of the scientific aspects of the mission, Danielle took on the political and social impacts, and I volunteered to handle the biographies of the astronauts and the timeline of events.
As we worked, I felt a sense of camaraderie growing between us. Hanni's jokes kept the mood light, and Danielle's organization skills ensured we stayed on track.
"Okay," Danielle said, closing her notebook. "I think we've got a solid plan. Let's meet again tomorrow to see what we've found."
"Sounds good," Hanni said, stretching. "This is going to be awesome."
As we packed up, I couldn't help but feel excited. Not only was this project going to be interesting, but I was also looking forward to spending more time with my new friends.
"Hey, Haerin," Danielle said as we walked out of the library. "Do you want to come over to my place tonight? We can work on our parts together."
I smiled, grateful for the invitation. "I'd love to. Thanks, Danielle."
"Great! I'll text you my address," she said. "See you in a bit!"

Danielle's POV
Later that evening, I set up my laptop and notes on the kitchen table, waiting for Haerin to arrive. I was glad she was coming over; working together would make the project easier and more fun.
The doorbell rang, and I rushed to answer it. Haerin stood there, holding a notebook and looking a little nervous.
"Hey, come on in!" I said, stepping aside to let her in.
"Thanks," she said, smiling shyly. "Wow, your house is really nice."
"Thanks," I replied, leading her to the kitchen. "Make yourself at home. Want something to drink? We've got soda, juice, water..."
"Juice would be great," Haerin said, taking a seat.
We settled in, and before long, we were deep into our research. Haerin had found some fascinating details about the astronauts, and I was impressed by how thorough she was.
"This is really good stuff, Haerin," I said, reading through her notes. "You've got a knack for this."
She blushed. "Thanks, Danielle. I just hope it all comes together."
"It will," I assured her. "We're going to rock this project."
Just then, my mom popped her head into the kitchen. "Hi girls! Need anything?"
"We're good, Mom," I said. "Just working on a school project."
"Alright, well, let me know if you need anything," she said with a smile. "Nice to meet you, Haerin."
"You too, Mrs. Kim," Haerin replied politely.
After my mom left, we got back to work. The hours flew by, and by the time we finished, we had a solid foundation for our project.
"This was great," Haerin said as she packed up her things. "Thanks for having me over, Danielle."
"Anytime," I said, walking her to the door. "See you tomorrow?"
"Definitely," she replied with a smile.
As I watched her walk down the driveway, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Not just because we'd made progress on our project, but because I knew I'd made a true friend.
