As we chased after Kim, we suddenly heard a loud crash and our attention was diverted. We rushed over to the clearing, our hearts racing with concern, to find out what had happened. The trees grew taller and the air thickened with an otherworldly energy. The sky above was a deep shade of indigo, with stars twinkling like diamonds scattered across the canvas of the universe. The wind whispered ancient secrets through the leaves, and the ground beneath our feet hummed with a primal power. Suddenly, a being with dazzling golden eyes, four wings, and a muscular upper body emerged before us, his presence radiating an aura of power and grace. His white clothes were torn, revealing his lower body, and his wings were cut in half, leaving him standing in a pool of blood, his expression a mix of pain and defiance.
"Who are you?" I asked, my voice firm and curious.
"I am Azrael," he replied, his deep voice laced with a hint of arrogance. "A being of legend, a creature of myth and magic. And you, mortal, are nothing but a fleeting moment in the annals of time."
Jai stepped forward, his eyes locked on Azrael. "What have you done to yourself? Your wings... they're torn apart."
Azrael's expression twisted in pain. "The price of power, mortal. A price you could never pay. You're just a weak, feeble creature, unworthy of my presence."
My anger flared up at his insults. "Enough, Azrael! You may have power, but you're not a god. And I'm not a mere insect, I'm a human being with thoughts and feelings."
Azrael's laughter was like thunder, shaking the ground beneath our feet. "You think you can stand against me? I, who have ruled the skies for centuries? You're nothing but a fleeting moment in the annals of time."
Jai's face twisted in anger. "You may have power, Azrael, but you're not invincible. And we're not afraid of you."
Azrael's eyes flashed with fury. "Fools! You think you can defy me and live?"
I gripped a sturdy wooden stick, while Jai collected stones, our eyes locking in a silent understanding. The air was electric with tension as we prepared to face this mysterious, winged being. The trees seemed to close in around us, their branches creaking ominously, and the wind died down, as if holding its breath in anticipation of the battle to come.
"You may have power," I said, my voice steady, "but we have something you don't: humanity. And that's what will bring you down."
Azrael's laughter echoed through the forest once more, but this time, it was laced with a hint of uncertainty, his eyes gleaming with a fierce light.
