It's been two weeks since I've been in this hospital.
They've had someone come in to teach me sign language. I don't know that much yet and it's hard to concentrate. Every time I try to talk it reminds me that I lost my mother.
The doctor hasn't told me anything about where I'm going to go after all my wounds have healed. It makes me sick just thinking about it.
"Hey Carly how you feeling?" My doctor, Dr. Martins, asked coming into my room.
"Fine, I guess" I wrote on a chalk board.
"I have some great news for you" Dr. Martins exclaimed smiling, "We've found your dad. He's-"
But I stopped listening after that. Dad? I didn't think this could get any worse. My father. The man who left my mom after she told him she was pregnant. The man I never knew.
He left me. Why? If they found my father that meant he'd be back in my life. But was that a good thing?
"Carly? Did you hear me?" Dr. Martins asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"No, sorry what did you say?" I wrote down.
"Well your dad's name is David Gilinsky. He lives in Omaha, Nebraska. You also have three older step siblings. Jack, Molly, and Laura. Your sisters are in college and Jack lives in LA but they'll be at the house when you get there." He informs me.
"Wait did you just say Jack Gilinsky?" I wrote.
Dr. Martins laughed, "that's the only thing you got from that?"
"Jack Gilinsky is my brother?" I wrote down sloppily because I was freaking out. If they're messing with me about this I'd cry.
"So I guess you've heard of him. My daughter loves the Jacks too," He smiled at me, "maybe this living situation will be fun"
Maybe it will
