Y/N and Kishou Arima had been together for three years, growing closer with each passing day. Kishou's job as a CCG investigator kept him busy, but they always found time for each other, cherishing the moments they could spend together.

One evening, as Y/N walked home from her job as an accountant, she felt uneasy. She sensed someone following her. Her heart pounded as she quickened her pace and glanced back to see a shadowy figure trailing her.

She pulled out her phone and sent a quick text to Kishou: "Being followed. Help." Just then, a hand clamped over her mouth, and everything went dark.

When Y/N woke up, she was in a dimly lit room, her hands cuffed behind her back and tied to a chair. Her heart raced as she looked around, fear gripping her. Heavy footsteps echoed, and a large man stepped into the light. He wore a hockey mask, making him look even more terrifying.

"Jason," he said in a deep, menacing voice. "Nice to meet you, Y/N."

Y/N realized he was a ghoul, a dangerous creature. She tried to suppress her sobs, silently crying as she thought of Kishou. Was he looking for her? Did he miss her as much as she missed him?

Days passed in a blur of fear and pain. Jason's cruel taunts and actions left Y/N bruised and exhausted, but she refused to give up hope. She clung to thoughts of Kishou, imagining him tirelessly searching for her.

Meanwhile, Kishou was indeed relentless in his search. The moment he received Y/N's text, he mobilized every resource he had. He scoured the city, interrogated informants, and worked tirelessly, driven by the need to find her. The thought of Y/N in danger fueled his determination.

Finally, Kishou found a lead that pointed him to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. His heart pounded with fear and hope as he approached the building, his weapon ready.

Inside, Y/N was at her breaking point. Her body ached, and her spirit was nearly crushed. But just as despair threatened to consume her, the door burst open, and Kishou stormed in. His eyes blazed with fury and determination as he confronted Jason.

"Let her go," Kishou demanded, his voice cold and deadly.

Jason laughed, a cruel sound. "You think you can take me, Arima?"

Kishou didn't respond. Instead, he attacked with a ferocity that took Jason by surprise. The fight was brutal, but Kishou's skill and determination won. He brought Jason to his knees and delivered the final blow.

With Jason defeated, Kishou rushed to Y/N's side. He gently uncuffed her, pulling her into his arms. "Y/N, are you okay?" he asked, his voice breaking with emotion.

As Kishou pulled Y/N into his arms, he couldn't help but notice the empty, dead look in her eyes. It was as if all the warmth and life had been drained from her. He clenched his jaw tightly, his mind racing as he tried to process the sight before him.

Kishou felt a pang of shock as he looked into Y/N's eyes. They were no longer the warm, expressive orbs he was used to. Instead, they were cold and lifeless, almost like the eyes of a ghoul. It was a stark contrast to the woman he knew and loved, and it sent a shiver down his spine.

Kishou's grip on Y/N tightened involuntarily, his heart skipping a beat at her words. She spoke calmly, her voice devoid of any emotion.

"I've been waiting for you," she said, her tone flat and expressionless. "Hoping you would come. But you're too late."

As Kishou held Y/N tightly, his heart ached at her words. She spoke with a flat tone, her eyes still empty and lifeless.

"When I saw you coming here to rescue me," she said, "the excitement inside me died. It was as if the butterflies you'd sent to my garden had already burned and turned into ashes."

Kishou felt bile rise in his throat at the coldness in her voice. It was a stark contrast to the passionate and fiery woman he had fallen in love with. "What do you mean, the butterflies turned into ashes?" he asked, his voice quivering slightly.

They sat there for a moment, holding each other. Kishou's heart ached at the sight of Y/N's injuries, but he knew they would heal. What mattered most was that she was safe, and they were together.

Kishou's eyes widened as a glint of blue caught his attention. Behind Y/N, a kagune materialized, its sharp, glowing blue shape eerily illuminated. With a sudden and swift motion, it shot out, its sharp end stopping just an inch away from his eye.

His heart thundered in his chest, adrenaline coursing through his veins. He instinctively drew his body back, away from the dangerous kagune, even as he struggled to wrap his mind around the horror of the situation. "Y/N," he rasped, his voice trembling with fear. "What... what's happening to you?"

Kishou clenched his jaw, the reality of the situation settling heavily on his shoulders. He had no choice. Though it pained him to do so, he had to fight the woman he loved. His heart ached at the thought, but he knew it was the only option left.

"I'm sorry, Y/N," he muttered, his voice barely audible above the pounding in his ears. "Please forgive me for this."

Kishou charged his Narukami, the quinque crackling with electric energy. He gripped it tightly, his eyes locked on Y/N with a mixture of sadness and determination.

With a surge of electricity, Kishou thrust his Narukami towards Y/N, the quinque gleaming with a vibrant blue glow. The air around them hummed with the crackle of electricity as the powerful weapon sliced through the air, aimed directly at Y/N.

Kishou clenched his jaw, his emotions churning within him. The sight of Y/N's pained expression and the knowledge that he had caused it was almost too much to bear. He pulled back his Narukami, watching as Y/N stumbled back, a hand clutching her injured eye.

Kishou's heart squeezed as Y/N's body finally gave in to unconsciousness. He quickly rushed to her side, carefully gathering her limp form into his arms. He held her close, a mixture of protectiveness and sadness washing over him.

The weight of her body against his chest was both relieving and heart-wrenching. Kishou couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt as he held her, knowing that he had been the one to cause her pain, even if it was in an attempt to save her.

As they left the structure/building, Kishou vowed to never let anything like this happen again. He would protect Y/N with everything he had.

Kishou carried Y/N home, his arms wrapped protectively around her unconscious form. He walked slowly, his mind filled with a mix of worry and remorse.

Time skip

As he entered their home, he gently laid her down on the bed, his heart heavy with the knowledge that he had caused her harm.

Once Kishou laid Y/N on the bed, he immediately set to work tending to her wounds. His heart ached as he cleaned and bandaged her injured eye, the sight of her pained expression etched in his mind.

He worked in silence, the only sounds in the room the soft rustle of bandages and the steady beat of his own guilty heart.

Y/N tried to move, but the realization that she was restrained hit her. She could feel the binds binding her wrists and ankles, preventing her from moving freely.

Confusion and fear mingled in her eyes as she looked up at Kishou, wondering what he had done to her while she was unconscious.

"You should've killed me"

Kishou's eyes widened at Y/N's words, his heart clenching painfully in his chest. "What...? No, Y/N, I could never do something like that."

His voice was soft, filled with a mixture of pain and guilt. The idea of ending her life, even in the dire state she was in, was unthinkable to him.

"Funny how you're saying that to my face after killing multiple of ghouls" Y/N scoffed

Kishou clenched his jaw, the guilt and sadness in his eyes evident. "I know," he muttered, his voice shaky.

"I've taken lives, and I can't deny it. But it doesn't change the fact that you're different. You're not just another ghoul in my eyes. You mean everything to me.
