it's funny and it's ironic

No ones POV

Y/N woke to the soft glow of the Barcelona sunrise filtering through her apartment windows. The first day at her new job awaited her, and she felt a mixture of excitement and nerves. She dressed in her professional best—a smart polo shirt with the Barcelona crest and comfortable slacks—then grabbed a quick breakfast before heading out.

The FC Barcelona training ground was a hive of activity when she arrived. Y/N took a moment to take it all in: the pristine pitches, the modern facilities, and the sense of history and excellence that permeated the air. She walked into the main building, greeted by the club's iconic colors and the buzz of anticipation that came with a new season.

A friendly staff member guided her to the medical wing, where she met Dr. Ruiz, the head of the medical team. "Y/N, welcome to FC Barcelona. We're thrilled to have you," he said warmly, shaking her hand.

"Thank you, Dr. Ruiz. I'm excited to be here and to get started," Y/N replied with a confident smile.

"Please, call me Javier," he said. "Let me introduce you to the team."

They walked through the state-of-the-art facilities, and Y/N couldn't help but be impressed by the level of investment in player health and performance. They finally reached a large room filled with various treatment tables and equipment. Several staff members were already busy preparing for the day's sessions.

"This is where the magic happens," Javier said. "You'll have everything you need here. Now, let's meet some of the players that have arrived."

Y/N followed Javier to the training pitch, where the women's team was warming up. She immediately recognized some of the faces from watching countless matches and highlights. The team's captain, Alexia Putellas, stood out with her commanding presence and undeniable skill.

"Alexia, over here!" Javier called out. Alexia jogged over, her expression curious and welcoming.

"Alexia, this is Y/N L/N, our new physiotherapist. She's come to us from Arsenal," Javier introduced.

"Hola, Y/N," Alexia said, extending her hand. "Welcome to Barcelona. We're lucky to have you."

"Thank you, Alexia. It's an honor to be here and to work with such a talented team," Y/N replied, shaking her hand firmly.

Alexia's eyes lingered on Y/N for a moment longer than necessary, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "We're a close-knit group here. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. And, if you ever need a personal tour of the city, I'd be happy to oblige."

Y/N felt a slight blush rise to her cheeks. "I might take you up on that offer."

As the training session progressed, Y/N began to familiarize herself with the players and their routines. She observed their movements, noting any signs of discomfort or strain, and quickly jumped in to assist whenever needed. Her professionalism and expertise were evident, and the players responded well to her guidance.

Near the end of the session, while Y/N was treating a minor muscle strain for one of the midfielders, she noticed a familiar face approaching. Recognition flashed in both their eyes.

"You!" Y/N exclaimed before she could stop herself.

The woman laughed, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Small world, isn't it?"

"Y/N, meet Mapi León, one of our star defenders," Alexia chimed in, clearly enjoying the unfolding interaction.

"Y/N, right? Sorry about yesterday. Barcelona's streets can be chaotic," Mapi said, extending her hand.

Y/N took her hand, a smile spreading across her face. "No worries. Nice to officially meet you, Mapi."

"Welcome to the team," Mapi said with a flirtatious grin. "We're a lively bunch, but I promise we're worth it."

Y/N felt a rush of warmth at Mapi's playful demeanor. "I'm starting to see that."

"Don't let her charm you too much," another voice interjected. Y/N turned to see Jenni Hermoso approaching, a mischievous glint in her eye. "She's got a way with words, but we all do here. Especially when someone as intriguing as you joins us."

Y/N chuckled, feeling unexpectedly flattered by the attention. "Thank you, Jenni. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone."

"We'll make sure of that," Jenni said with a wink.

As the training session concluded, Y/N felt a sense of accomplishment and belonging settling in. She had navigated her first day with grace, met the team, and even found herself drawn into a lively exchange with Mapi and Jenni. She watched as the players bantered and laughed, sensing the strong bond that united them.

Javier approached her, a pleased expression on his face. "You did exceptionally well today, Y/N. The players already seem comfortable with you."

"Thank you, Javier. It was a good day," Y/N replied, her thoughts drifting to Jonas, Katie and Leah, and their encouraging words.

As she packed up her things, Y/N couldn't help but reflect on the whirlwind of change that had brought her here. Moving to Barcelona had been a leap of faith, but in just one day, she felt a sense of purpose and connection that assured her she was exactly where she was meant to be.

Walking out of the training ground, the warm Mediterranean sun on her face, She was ready for whatever came next, confident in her abilities and eager for the journey ahead with FC Barcelona.
