don't let them out tonight
I woke up with a smile on my face, replaying the memories of my coffee date with Mapi. Her playful charm, the way she looked at me, and the warmth of her touch were all fresh in my mind. But I also felt a twinge of nervousness. Navigating this relationship while maintaining professionalism at the training ground is already quite tricky.
As I arrived at the training ground, I was greeted by the usual buzz of activity. Players were warming up, coaches were strategizing, and the air was filled with the sounds of determination and competition. I made my way to the physiotherapy area, where I had a few appointments lined up for the morning.
While setting up, my phone buzzed with a message. I glanced at it, seeing a text from Mapi.
Mapi💗
Morning, hermosa. Ready for another day of training? 😉I couldn't help but smile at her playful tone.
Y/N
Good morning! Always ready. See you out there!Tucking my phone away, I focused on my first appointment, but thoughts of Mapi lingered in the back of my mind. I knew we needed to keep things professional in front of the team, but the excitement of our connection was hard to ignore.
As the morning progressed, I noticed Mapi more often than usual. She seemed to be everywhere—on the field, chatting with teammates, glancing in my direction with a knowing smile. It was as if the events of last night had amplified everything.
During a break, I found myself walking across the training ground when Mapi intercepted me. "Hey, Y/N. How's your day going?"
I tried to keep my voice steady. "Good, just busy. How about you?"
"Busy as well," Mapi replied, her eyes twinkling. "But seeing you makes it better."
I blushed, trying to focus on the task at hand. "Thanks, Mapi. We should probably get back to work, though."
"Of course," Mapi agreed, but not before giving me a quick wink. "Catch you later."
As Mapi jogged off, I continued towards the main building, where I nearly bumped into someone. She caught my arm to steady me, her touch warm and familiar.
"Careful there, Y/N. You seem a bit distracted today," Alexia said with a grin.
I laughed, feeling a bit flustered. "Yeah, just a lot on my mind."
Alexia's eyes twinkled with curiosity. "Anything you want to talk about? I'm a good listener, you know."
I hesitated, then decided to share a bit. "Actually, I went out for coffee with Mapi last night."
Alexia raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile spreading across her face. "Mapi, huh? That's interesting. She's quite the charmer."
"Yeah, she is," I admitted, feeling my cheeks warm.
Alexia patted my shoulder. "Mapi's great, but she can be a bit... intense."
"Thanks, Alexia. I'll keep that in mind."
She gave me a reassuring smile before heading off to join the team. The rest of the morning passed in a blur of activity. I worked with various players, helping them with their physiotherapy needs while keeping an eye on the field. Eventually, lunchtime arrived, providing a much-needed break. I grabbed a sandwich from the cafeteria and found a quiet spot to sit and eat.
Just as I was about to take a bite, my phone buzzed again. This time, it was a call from Leah. I answered, smiling as I heard her familiar voice. "Hey, Leah! How's everything?"
"Hey, Y/N! Things are good here. How about you?"
I leaned back, relaxing a bit. "It's been amazing. I'm doing really well."
Leah chuckled. "I bet. So, any interesting stories to share yet?"
I hesitated, then decided to be honest. "Actually, I've gotten close with Mapi. We went for coffee last night."
There was a pause on the other end. "Mapi, huh? I told you about her right?"
I frowned. "I know. She just seems different."
"I'm sure they all said that," Leah began cautiously, "she's known for it Y/N. Just be careful, okay?"
I sighed, appreciating Leah's concern. "Thanks for caring. I'll keep that in mind."
"Good. I just don't want you to get hurt," Leah said gently. "But hey, if you're happy, that's what matters."
"Thanks, Leah. I'll be careful."
We chatted for a bit longer before hanging up. I mulled over Leah's words, feeling a mix of concern and determination. Mapi had been nothing but charming and respectful towards me, but Leah's warning was hard to ignore.
The afternoon training session was more intense, with the coaches pushing the players hard. I was kept busy attending to minor injuries and helping players stretch. Mapi and I exchanged glances a few times, her eyes always warm and inviting.
As the session wound down, Mapi approached me again, her expression thoughtful. "Hey, Y/N. Got any plans?"
I hesitated, thinking about Leah's warning. "Not really. Why?"
"How about dinner? There's this amazing little place I know," Mapi suggested, her tone casual but her eyes filled with hope.
I smiled, unable to resist her charm. "Dinner sounds great. Why not?"
"Perfect," Mapi said, her grin widening. "I'll pick you up at seven?"
"See you then," I agreed, feeling a flutter of excitement mixed with a hint of caution.
As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and nerves. Navigating this new relationship with Mapi while keeping Leah's warning in mind would be a delicate balance. But for now, I decided to focus on the positive—enjoying the moments as they came and seeing where this unexpected journey with Mapi would lead.
The day at the training ground came to an end, and as I headed home to get ready for dinner, I couldn't help but smile. Despite the challenges, Barcelona was turning out to be more than just a professional opportunity—it was becoming an adventure filled with excitement, new friendships, and unexpected connections.
