I promise 'em that you're different and everyone makes mistakes, but just don't.

Your Pov

After a stimulating evening with my Barcelona teammates, i couldn't help but find myself reflecting on the playful flirtations from Jenni, Alexia, and especially Mapi.

The next morning, I decided to reach out to Leah.  I needed someone to talk to, someone who understood my need to remain professional and someone who could give me some honest advice.

something Leah was exceptionally good at.

I dialed Leah's number, my heart fluttering from nerves slightly as I waited for the call to connect.

"Y/N! How's are you!?" Leah's voice greeted warmly through the phone.

"Hey, Leah. I'm amazing, really. The team is great, and the city... well, it's Barcelona, How are you?!" I replied with a chuckle, trying to keep my tone light despite the thoughts swirling in my mind.

"That's fantastic to hear! I'm really good, I was thinking of you today. How are things with the team?" Leah asked, i assumed she had sensed a hint of hesitation in my voice that i was unable to cover.

"They've been so welcoming, Leah. I can't complain. But... I wanted to talk to you about something," I began, my words hesitant.

"Of course, anything. You know you can talk to me about anything," Leah reassured me, as always.

"It's about Jenni, Alexia, and Mapi," I reluctantly confessed, feeling a bit awkward. "They've been really friendly, almost flirtatious, and I'm not sure how to read it. Is it just their way, or...?"

Leah paused for a moment, clearly trying to choose her words carefully. "Y/N, you know Mapi has a bit of a reputation. She's a fantastic player and teammate, but she's also known for being quite the charmer."

I nodded to myself, processing Leah's words. "Yeah, I've heard a few things."

It was true. It wasn't a secret that she knew how to charm a woman.

"It's not necessarily a bad thing, but just be cautious," Leah continued gently. "Sometimes her playful demeanor can be misinterpreted. If you're unsure about her intentions, it's okay to keep a bit of distance until you get a better sense of where things stand."

"I understand," I replied, grateful for Leah's honesty.

"It's all part of being on a close-knit team," Leah added. "Just trust your instincts and don't feel pressured to reciprocate anything that makes you uncomfortable."

"Thank you, Leah. I appreciate your advice," I added sincerely, feeling reassured by her words.

"Anytime, Y/N. Remember, you're there to do a job and be part of a great team," Leah encouraged me before we said our goodbyes.

After hanging up, I took a moment to reflect on my conversation with Leah. Realising that while the banter and camaraderie were natural in a football team, it was important for me to navigate it with awareness, especially with someone like Mapi. Armed with Leah's insights and my own intuition, I suddenly felt more prepared to handle the dynamics at FC Barcelona.
