-*Linda's POV*

"What?! You're telling me that no one reported her missing?! Not even her family?" I said out of pure anger, how could her own blood not care for her?

They call themselves parents. Pfft.

"Ma'am, we did not get any type of report about a certain Y/N L/N. But are you here to file a missing file about her or anything else?" The officer asked politely, probably to not provoke me even more than I am.

I stayed there and glared at the officer, clearly pissed off at them. I wanted justice for her, how can even the police be so careless about it?

I then stood on my grounds before opening my mouth and exclaiming with grand purpose,

"Yes, I am here to file a missing person, Y/N L/N, my best friend. If I ever hear one of you police officers tell me that the case will go cold at any moment, I will not tolerate it. She has been taken against her will, probably trapped somewhere else or who knows?! Would you let a young woman all alone and helpless? I don't think so. So instead of eating donuts all day, why not be useful for this case? Hm?"

I spat out, not taking the time to take a breath. I was at my limits.

The officer looked at me a bit stunned but quickly got over it.

"Please calm down ma'am, just fill out these papers and we will look into it."

I gave them an intense gaze before coming back to my sentences,

"Only investigate it? Why not send out a team to search?" I declared,

"We must investigate the person's profile before doing proper investigations. Unless you are not agreeing with these terms, the exit door is right behind you. You may leave with no issues ma'am." The patrol officer stated.

I hesitated a bit as I wanted them to start their probing sooner.

But even if it'll take a bit longer than I can handle, it'll be for the best. So, I can finally find her again.

I can't imagine what this sadistic man must be doing to her.

Suddenly, something came back to me, when I saw her leaving out of the ballroom building, with that man. The mask he was wearing, it looked like a rare type of mask.

Also, the man's eyes piercing through the mask, a deep piercing purple.

"Actually, I'll sign them at one condition." I uttered,

"And what would be the condition ma'am?" The officer asked, all ears,

"That another masquerade ball gets announced, like the last one." I proclaimed,

I knew that man would show up again. I mean, he is one of those rich fucks who only come around to show off their rare collection.

No wonder he was there last week.

"Would there be any reason for that miss?" The officer retorted,

"I know for a fact that the captor had a unique mask, one of these rare types you know. Which means he is part of the snob society, which always come to these kinds of conventions. To show off their exotic collection. If we initiate a masquerade ball, he might come back." I announced,

"Alright, we'll take that into consideration. Now if you may sign the papers so that we can directly start looking forward into it." The police man stated before handing me out the papers,

I signed them as fast as I could going over the terms and then handed them back to him.

"I hope you people will do your job like god damn humans." I said with confidence,

"With no doubt we will try our best." The mustached man said as he got up from his chair to put the papers back into the office.

I then left without saying a word, walking down the streets with my hazelnut hair flowing at the back of my head.

I didn't have high expectations as I knew this city's police service was actual shit.
