-*Linda's POV*
Some weeks had now passed, and I was still determined to find her. The police are now trying to organize a masquerade ball with the city's caretakers. They agreed as the reasoning was quite reasonable, to catch a criminal that was at the previous ball. I was thrilled by the news since I knew this bastard would show up one way or another.
But... something was missing. The police officers weren't putting effort into doing research. They would only squat on their chairs and focus on their lame existence of everyday duties. So, I took matters into my own hands, with a partner of course.
My partner was Henry, a shy guy going to university to become a police officer. It was the perfect opportunity for him to try and solve this matter with me! Would probably enhance his chance of passing. He has been in our friend group since high school, so of course he wouldn't let Y/N suffer under a man's puppet strings. He at least understood me, not like these nonchalant police officers. Not even trying at least to ask individuals from the past masquerade ball if they saw the man.
At first, Henry was a bit flabbergasted when he heard about Y/N's disappearance. He got a bit of a panic attack but regenerated himself back in, I knew he was sickly worried for Y/N.
Henry wasn't up at first for the idea of risking our lives to find that man. But I had to remind him that it wasn't about him but Y/N's sake and life. She could be bleeding to death right now, who knows?
"Okay! Stop frightening me with these thoughts! I'll help you but only so she can come back to us and that I can upgrade my chances of passing my test." I heard Henry bluntly speak out with a scared tone.
I chuckled a bit before replying to him,
"Well, that's good that you'll engage yourself in this. Just don't give up on her, I'm sure she counts on us and still thinks about us."
Henry stared at me as if he was agreeing with me. I could see it by the guilt that was in his eyes, not wanting to show it off. I then gently took him by the hands and muttered to him in a sweet rhythm.
"Don't worry, I'm sure she's fine currently, we should not worry. Knowing her, she'll find a way or another. But anyways, the masquerade ball will be coming up and that son of a bitch will probably show up."
I then began to walk down the street with him, wanting to take some air as we knew what was happening right now was outrageous.
We just want to find her and come at peace.
-END OF POV-
You now woke up feeling completely under the influence of something similar to drugs, as your whole body was in pain and your legs still bounded together. He was right in front of you but sitting in his chair and focused on his computer monitors, but on the screen were the files of each member of the agency. One particularly caught your eye, a man with messy chestnut brown hair, as well as his eyes the same color as his hair, dressed in a beige kind of colored coat, and his arms wrapped up in bandages.
He reminded you of someone, but you didn't know who. It's as if you already saw him somewhere else...
"I see you're awake, dear." Fyodor suddenly spat out.
He clearly saw you through the screen's reflection. As he turned his chair over to your direction, looking at you with contempt, he noticed your intrigued look to the man that popped on the screen. His mood darkened as he could tell you were getting a bit too curious... But couldn't help himself feel that way as he wanted to know what made you look at this man with confusion and curiosity.
He then slowly cackled before opening his mouth.
"Tell me, do you know this man? Osamu Dazai?" The medium lengthen man then articulated out of interest.
That name struck you, Dazai. You remembered that tragic night at the ball, before events took place. A tall man introduced himself to you as "Dazai" and asked you if you had seen any blond headed guy with glasses. You recall saying no as you had just made your way into the palace it took place in. You also remember him giving you his number and told you that if you were ever interested to commit a double suicide with him, to call him. That really concerned you, you thought this man was bonkers. But he had just given you a wink and then left.
You then glanced at Fyodor, hesitant if you should retort to him or not.
"I-I just remember meeting him back at the ball... He asked me if I saw a guy with glasses and blond hair... and then he gave me his number and told me to call him if I wanted to commit a double suicide with him..." I finally said.
Dostoevsky just stared at you blankly as if you had told him some kind of joke. But as already knew Dazai, he knew that he would be the type of man to do that.
"I see... interesting... Well, let me tell you something about him, he's a womanizer. He's a bad man with bad intentions." He announced, as he gave you a wry smile.
He then looked over at the dress you wore back then at the masquerade, it was now on the floor as you were dressed in different clothing. The mysterious Slav then began searching through it until he saw a small sound machine.
"Caught you." He then grumbled, breaking the small thing.
As he finished it off, he looked back at you with "love" in his eyes. He then approached you until you were both face to face and he crouched down to your level.
"So, my sweet one, did you think about my previous offer? You should've learned your lesson by now, didn't you?" He told you, expecting you to play along.
You then remembered the previous events, a wave of fear washing over you. He already knew you would react like that yet kept acting clueless. As you thought about it, you slowly nodded.
"Y-Yeah... I think that I want to accept you into my life..." You voiced out, clearly lying to yourself as you just wanted to avoid his torment and abuse.
"Cute. You're lying to me, aren't you? But that's alright, at least I have your agreement now. You're such a good girl for me, aren't you?" He spoke as he cupped your cheeks in his hands.
You honestly felt terrified at this point as your eyes widened, but this feeling of lust still came upon you when he touched you like that. It made you feel loved.
But at the end of the day you had no choices anymore, you had to accept the fact that you were stuck with him and that there were no way out.
