Chapter 2: The Heartbreaking News
It was a beautiful morning when Tricia called Kelvin and asked him to meet her at their favorite park. The sun was shining, and the birds were singing, but there was an unsettling feeling in the pit of Kelvin's stomach.
As he approached, he saw Tricia sitting on their favorite bench, her eyes red and puffy. He hurried to her side, concern etched on his face. "Tricia, what's wrong?"
She took a deep breath, her hands trembling. "Kelvin, I don't know how to say this, but I have to. I'm dying. The doctors say I only have eighteen days left."
The words hit him like a freight train, and he felt the ground shift beneath him. "No, this can't be true. There has to be something they can do."
She shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I've tried everything, but it's too late. All we can do now is make the most of the time we have left."
