[Island of Patch, Rose/Xiao Long Cabin]

Initially only wanting to stay for that night, Y/N seemed to bond rather quickly with the Rose/Xiao Long family. Often joking, and terrorizing poor Ruby, with puns between Tai, Yang and Y/N. Though, if you ask the Rose/Xiao Long family, Y/N ability in the kitchen helped too. More often than not, by the time Ruby, Tai and Yang wake up, Y/N was already up and doing his daily routine, and breakfast was done, and still hot, waiting for them.

Though it was unintentional, Tai felt pride well up within himself, as he ate breakfast and caught a glimpse of Y/N doing his daily workout. Though, Tai would be hard pressed to admit that Y/N's daily workout put his to shame, whether that be his current workout, or even when he was younger. Though, as a father, Tai had a blast teasing Ruby and Yang, as more often than not, they'd be distracted watching Y/N, and nearly forgetting their breakfast.

Although he hasn't said it out loud, Tai wouldn't mind if some how, some way, Y/N ended up with either Ruby or Yang, though he hopes Y/N waits till Ruby is a bit older. As protective as he is, during his six day stay at the Rose/Xiao Long house, Tai, with his experience, and knowledge from when he himself was younger, can tell Y/N wouldn't use, or otherwise hurt, Ruby or Yang intentionally.

While Tai never interfered directly, he did watch while Y/N and Yang would spar, and usually with Y/N giving Yang some pointers in Hand-To-Hand, that did impress Tai, as Y/N may, or may not if you ask Tai, had even taught him some little tips. During their time sparring Yang got a little better with Hand-To-Hand, but also improved her defense greatly. Though, it is to be noted that Yang still has some difficulties when opponents use their legs, it's not nearly as debilitating to Yang as it used to be, mainly due to Y/N teaching Yang how to parry in Hand-To-Hand.

Y/N and Ruby spent a good bit of time talking about weapons, and weapon modifications. Ruby had asked Y/N why he doesn't try them out on Kanshou & Bakuya, but Y/N explained he liked them the way they are, and even extended an offer to Ruby, that maybe they can work on a weapon together sometime. They even started coming up with a blueprint, but it's very much still in the works.

One time, while all four of them were joking around, Ruby and Tai had both stopped laughing much to Y/N's confusion. All he did was help Yang tie her hair into a ponytail. For a moment Yang's bangs (Ba dum tsssh) were covering her eyes, however to Tai and Ruby's complete bewilderment, rather than immediately getting mad, when she flirted her face, she had a shy facial expression, a blush on her face, and refused to look into Y/N's eyes for a while.

Y/N and Ruby even did a little Hand-To-Hand training, something that Tai did his best to secretly video, as Yang and himself had a very hard time trying to convince Ruby to lay down her Crescent Rose and learn to fight without it. Though she didn't master Hand-To-Hand, Y/N at least taught her how to center herself and throw a mean left and right hook. Something Tai noted that Y/N promises Ruby to teach her more if she masters the basics.

During his stay there, Y/N often went above and beyond Tai's requests for help, like the previously mentioned cooking, as well as the dishes, cleaning, and gathering of wood for winter. Y/N and Tai also had several conversations, most of them showing Tai what Y/N's true colors are, which ended up further cementing Tai's opinion on Y/N.

Y/N: "So, Mr. Xiao Long, uh, not to be rude, and I am sorry if I am overstepping my bounds a bit, but Ruby and Yang are both your biological daughters, right?"
