chapter 9. 😍

I start driving but I don't really have a place to go. So I'm just driving around because I don't want to go home but I can't go to Kamerons. Even though I want to. So I ultimately go home.
"Elijah." Aaron's voice says.
"Boss." I sigh, not looking at him.
"You know I personally like you, hell you're one of my best coworkers." Aaron smiles.
"Yea." I say.
"Its a shame. You know hearing you were snooping through my shit. Like I said, personally I like you, but this is business. I can't have a hoodlum going around and showing all my secrets." Aaron says.
I freeze but calm down and smile.
"Were you gonna tell her?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest and leaning against my counter.
"Tell Kameron she was adopted? I knew she would find out when my plan comes together. But I guess I probably don't have to tell her now? Being as you've been sleeping over." Aaron laughs a humorless laugh.
"Yes boss, watching her. And no I haven't told her being as I just got home from finding out about... Well you know." I say, trying not to show my nervousness.
"Elijah. Please you don't have to lie I know about you and Kameron. Did you actually think Jackie wouldn't tell me? Me and Jackie talk alot. She tells me everything." Aaron glares.
"Oh, well then I don't have to dumb down much then?" I smirk.
"What do you mean?" Aaron asks.
"That me and Kameron fucked? Because you know so much right?" I smile.
Aarons expression changes and I love it. He is glaring at me.
"Boys get him, like I said this is business." Aaron says.
Then two others of Aarons coworkers comes over to me and start punching me I try to fight them off and lose i fall to the ground and they kick me then I can't feel anything and sleep is lulling me and I close my eyes.

"What do you wanna be?" Kameron says.
"Mine." I say.
"Then I'm yours." Kameron smiles.
My chest tightens and it hurts in the best way. I love her. I will always protect her. Always.

"Elijah! Babe, please, wake up. Oh my god. Eli!" I hear Kamerons wavery voice.
I feel small hands on my face and feel someones head laying on my chest shaking. I crack my eyes open.
"Darlin?" I croak.
"Eli! Oh my god." Kameron says, pulling my head into her lap and hugging me.
"Where are we?" I ask.
"You are where I want you to be." Aarons voice says.
I hurry and sit up pretending I don't hurt. I am standing and Kameron is behind me.
"Wow, you just don't give up huh?" Aaron starts, "You both are somewhere surrounded by my workers and you're trying to intimate me?"
"Dad, please. What the hell is going on?" Kameron says.
"Don't call me Dad. I'm not yours. You were adopted. That's what your boyfriend over here was snooping through yesterday." Aaron smiles.
I look up and around and see the two who beat me and two others. They all are pointing guns at us.
"Fuck you." I say, to Aaron.
Aaron cackles.
"Good doing business with you Elijah, sorry it had to come down to this." Aaron says.
He walks out and locks a door behind him. I run and punch it.
"Eli don't." Kameron says.
I turn around and look at her. I put my head in my hands and kneel to the ground. Kameron kneels down next to me.
"Remember practice?" Kameron whispers in my ear.
I nod.
"Lets move onto teamwork." Kameron says.
I look down and see they never took my gun and Kamerons either. I nod. We both stand. And I grab my gun but hide it from the others. Kameron does the same.
"Go." Kameron says, and starts shooting at the two on her side.
I shoot the ones who beat me and they fall down. I look at the door and see a gas can.
"Kameron." I say, making her look at the can.
I shoot it and grab Kameron jumping back. It explodes and I cover Kameron pulling uer to my chest. After it goes it grab Kamerons hand and drag her out.
"I know this place." Kameron says, "Me and Jackie would go through all of the secret tunnels and we would find ways to get in and out of here while Dad- Aaron worked." Kameron says, stopping and looking around.
She kneels down and feels the ground tiles. She lifts one and smiles. She hops down it and I follow her closing the top. We fall into a water tunnel.
"Kameron are you sure you know where we are going?" I ask.
"Don't question me right now." Kameron says, pointing a finger at me.
I see her bracelet wrapped on her wrist and my chest tightens like the time I gave it to her. I shake it off and nod. We start walking and listening.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Kameron asks.
"Because." I say.
"Elijah what I said to Jackie was wrong. I get that. But look at the shit I go through. I never had a boyfriend because of this shit. I had every right just like you did to walk out on me." Kameron says, looking at me.
"I was supposed to protect you. Kameron even after this we can't be together. Because if I can't protect you then I shouldn't be with you." I say.
"Eli you worked for Aaron, you never knew he would've done this." Kameron sighs.
"I should've." I say, putting all conversations to a hault when we reached a door.
Kameron twists the handle and water slooshes out. I look around gun him hand.
"Run to the hay field. I'm right behind you." I say.
Kameron doesn't wait a second before she dashes off. I look around and hear a gun shot. I look at Kameron and she is holding her stomach and falling to the ground.
"Kameron!" I yell.
I shoot at the guy and he falls. I run to Kameron and hold onto her stomach her blood pooling through my fingers.
"Kameron it's going to be ok. Just stay with me." I say, panicked.
She's going to be ok. I know it.
