THE WHITE LIGHT

HEATHER KASUGA

"Wakey wakey! Eggs and bakeyy!" Dixie sings at the top of her lungs.

"Ugh.. what the hell?" I groan, rubbing my eyes. What a way to wake us up Dixie, seems like her and Chris have more in common than I thought.

My eyes drowsily open and adjust to the bright white lighting of our bedroom. It must be morning time.

"Wake up!" Dixie sings, pushing me to my edge. Can't a girl atleast wake up peacefully around here?

Still drowsy and halfway asleep, I turn to my left side, only to peep Alejandro deep asleep. He looks so... attractive.

His chest slowly rises and falls as he sleeps, his facial expression peaceful and relaxed.

I honestly don't even feel guilty for staring, I mean.. look at him!

Getting up from my bed, I stand up and just look down at him. He's so...perfect.

"Well good morning to you too Heather." He speaks, his eyes still closed.

"What?" No way he's awake.

"I, wasn't asleep." He says, flicking open his pretty green eyes and the first thing he looks at is me.

"W-wha.. how did you? Ugh! Whatever! Just... get up! It's time to wake up anyway." I blush as I grab his arm and pull him up.

"Why, what's the rush?"

"N-nothing, I just.. want everyone to get up bright and early!"

"Oh? That's quite strange coming from you Heather."

"Change of heart." I rant, eagerly trying to come up with a reason as to why I'm acting so weird.

"Are you able to walk?" I ask.

"Barely." He replies back.

"Dixie needs to atleast let you heal a little Alejandro, your body is still too weak to be competing in anything!"

"I honestly don't know how duck taping my mouth and, locking me in a room alone was... helping me."

"She's just .... nevermind." I trail off.

"I'll see if Dixie was nice enough to atleast spare us some breakfast, I'll bring you some."

"Thank you Heather."

"Yeahh, whatever. Only 'cause I feel bad about taking the million from right under your nose." I know perfectly well that's not the reason. Not that I'll ever admit it.

Owen pushes open the humongously tall doors to our room, revealing the huge windows in the hall, and boy is it bright.

"I'll be lucky if I don't go blind before I get to the dining room. If there even is one." I mutter. Everyone starts to leave out the bedroom, assuming we can find where we're supposed to go?

As we walk around, I come to the literal conclusion that this place is actually humongous. Like, maybe the biggest factory in the world?
