Maithili's P.O.V.
The rays of the setting sun were spreading a different colours in the sky. Today's sky is not full of scorching sunshine, but of thundering clouds. And an invite to all the peacock and me... to get drench and dance in this first rain of the season.
Running to the roof, with loud sound of thundering beating high in my ears. I'm more focused on the twinkling sound, my new anklets are making.
All the peacock are gathered here. The cool gusts of wind blowing around seemed as if they were tickling me. And I am just smiling. I never quiet figured is do I dance on the rhythm of rain or on the rhythm of my heartbeat.
Maybe when it's rain, my heart beat on its rhythm. I don't know. All I know is in this moment I go into Nirvana. All my senses gets overwhelmed. And I let the rain soothe everything in me.

Acchhiiiii.... Uhh.. I sneeze with a runny nose.
"Ma, my head is aching so much. Do something, na."She hit me in head lightly.
"What are you five? What's this crazy obsession of yours with dancing in rain? My dear, you are a girl not a peacock. Who start dancing, the minute it rains."
"But Ma, it's really not my fault. I can't stop myself. This sky upon us calls me every time, it rains. Now how can I disrespect the almighty sky's request." I say seamlessly.
Kanak chuckles soundlessly.
"Oh lord, what do I do with this crazy girl of mine. Just drink this haldi-doodh (turmeric milk) and rest. You'll feel better tomorrow." Again losing the debate. She hands me the milk glass. "Your father may arrive by tomorrow, maybe."

The night is as dark as a raven has covered the beautiful moon. Storm is still running in winds, rustling leaves and still pouring strong rain, but couldn't over power the roars of thunder in the sky. Usually rain helps me sleep better, but thats not the case today. An uneasy feeling in swirling in my stomach. With Kanak sleeping next to me. I am wide awake in the end of this night. Standing on the window of my room, I hear Badal's whinning from afar. My father bringed him home many years back. When we, me and Kanak were little we used to sneek in the stable and play with him. He's the sweetest yet, really pride horse I have ever seen. White skin as beautiful as pearls, currently drenched in red.
"Oh my god! Badal!" i gasp at the sight of him being bathed in red. Blood.
Running to him, ignoring the the thunder and rain. Panick is crawling on my skin fast.
"Badal, Where's father? Where's he?"
Understanding my panik and fear, he start dragging me with my dupatta. I understands his sign. And hop on him. He is running the fastest he has ever run. We are leading to the outside of village. Which i know is not ba very wise decision, but my complete mind is on getting to father as soon as i can.
He stop below some cliff, a mounted place. Its too dark to see clearly. Obviously, Badal can't run on that sloppy hill. So i lead on my own, Finally making to the top. Unaware of what destiny had planned for me.
The sun is nearly up. Didn't noticed when exactly the rain stopped. Morning is coming, light pierce within the clouds and fall on land.
"Oh no! Father!" I scream on top of my lungs. Losing my mind. My body nearly freeze when i saw my father, chained like an animal. Bleeding. Unconscious.
Running to him. I wrap my hands around him, hugging him tight so if this is a dream, may this bubble burst right now.
