[Veer's POV]
Tragedy. That is the word anyone will use to describe my life in the pages of history. Every time I try to find even a shred of happiness. Haunting shadows of my past looms over it. Till all the light dies. I'm not a fool to believe, I would get that Little princess fairytale love story. But I never also thought I would be the one who caused her so much pain.
Then again, luck never works in my favour.
That fourteen year old Veer was devastated by the cruelty of this world. But the current me knows better. The world is a fucking jungle. And only the strongest can survive.
Smell of water. And clanking of shackles... A shadow comes forward, behind the bars.
"Hello... Father-in-law."
With a tired look Vanraaj Chandel comes to light. The man who is responsible for every pain I suffered in the last twenty years of my life. Every fucking thing. He is finally behind the bars. Though I want to rip his head off. I can't. Not that anyone can stop me, from doing so. But, the consequences of killing him are far more worse than a death sentence. She won't forgive me.
She is with me now. But only physically, her soul, her heart are not. I want every ounce of her being. Her breaths, her dreams, her touch, her screams.
"Madhav" Vanraaj avoids my greeting and looks towards Uncle Madhav.
They both and my father were once like brothers, inseparable. When Vanraaj Chandel killed my parents, my father's minister, Uncle Madhav was there for me. Guiding me, teaching me, comforting me. He protected me with his own life many times. The only person I can trust with my eyes closed is Uncle Madhav. But the state of emotions on Vanraaj's face is not what I wanted. I want him broken, shattered and lost in agony.
"Vanraaj" Uncle Madhav nod his head slightly.
"You once said, you'll love and protect my children as your own. I'm holding on to that promise."
"I promised this to both, you and Sujaan. Our friend. One whom you killed... Vanraaj." My brains concious starts turning into rage. Dark. Blind. Red.
Vanraaj closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.
"I'm not proud of what I did. But, it wasn't my choice. It was an accident."
"That's why you ran away like a stray dog." The words were to hurt his pride. However he is still the most proud person here. Turning towards me. His eyes are strong, determined and hiding... something.
"King of Rudrgadh, your father was my friend. I knew him better than you ever could. He was on rampage. He had become a monster. Unaware of the difference between right and wrong. I knew, if I had stayed back. He would surely killed me."
"So you ran. And also killed my mother... MY MOTHER." My voice echoes in cell loudly. Showing the pain in my voice to myself. "You took my mother away from me... And now, I've taken your daughter away from you. Now you'll know what agony do to you. I will show you what a hell looks like, before I'll send you there. Scar for a scar, scream for a scream and pain for pain. Your daughter will pay for every thing now."
I turns around and leaves without paying any attention to his pleading.
"NO... NO... You can't do this...No..."
The smell of damp is now gone. Gush of fresh air fills my lungs as I was lacking oxygen all the time I was in there.
I lied. I told Vanraaj that I'll hurt Maithili for all his deeds. But that was a lie, just to torture him. Cause the only thing that is common between him and I, is we both love Maithili more than anything else. But he don't know about it.I will destroy anything that'll come near her with the intention of hurting her.
