Over the next week, they kept their relationship almost as it was before. They stole a few quick kisses in the bathroom of the local pub when they went down for a drink on Monday night, after Jordan had introduced Gabriel as an old school friend.
Jordan was trying to be patient, but every time he heard Gabriel taking a shower, or knew that Gabe was changing in the spare room, it took all of his self-control not to burst into the room, pin him against the nearest wall and ravish him.
One evening later in the week, Gabe stepped out of the shower and towelled his hair vigorously. As he left the bathroom, he heard the soft strumming of guitar strings, followed by Jordan's low, melodic voice.
Gabe crept towards the sliding glass doors that opened onto the balcony overlooking the lake, and saw Jordan perched on the edge of the wooden railing, a faded guitar strap looped around his neck. The guitar was an old one, the paint completely worn through in places. The strings were shiny and new though.
"Jordan." Gabe stepped onto the balcony and smiled at his brother.
Jordan looked over at him, his voice fading.
"You kept the guitar."
"Of course I did," Jordan murmured. "You gave it to me." He stroked the body of the guitar lovingly.
Gabriel settled himself in one of the deck chairs and listened and Jordan continued to gently pluck the strings of the guitar.
Jordan finished his song, and went to return the guitar to its stand in his bedroom.
Gabriel caught hold of his wrist as he stepped back onto the balcony, and drew him close. He drew his fingers slowly across Jordan's arms, before sliding up over his back and pulling Jordan's t-shirt free from the waistband of his jeans.
Jordan hummed with pleasure when Gabriel's fingers trailed lightly over his lower back.
Gabriel stepped closer, tightening his grip on Jordan.
"Ellen said something," he murmured quietly.
Jordan blinked in surprise.
"You're bringing her up now?" He asked.
"She said that in university, you're weren't exactly... celibate."
"I was eighteen, and away from home for the first time. I think anyone would go a little wild."
"My point is," Gabe said slowly. "That we don't have to be particularly... slow? I mean, you know what're you doing, right?"
"Yeah," Jordan grinned sheepishly. "There wasn't a lot I didn't try back then."
"I'm not saying I'm ready to go that far," Gabe said quietly. "But you've given me space this week to consider things, and... I feel a lot more comfortable about everything."
"Good." Jordan's hands tugged Gabe closer, his fingers tightening against the fabric of Gabe's trousers. Leaning in, Jordan claimed Gabriel's lips in a passionate kiss.
Gabe moaned softly and looped his arms around Jordan's neck, pressing himself closer. He tangled in fingers into Jordan's thick, dark hair, angling his head to deepen their kiss.
Jordan broke from the kiss to yank Gabe's shirt over his head. His hands slid over the skin of Gabriel's back, tracing the length of his spine.
"Do I have to be careful?" He murmured, burying his face in Gabriel's neck and inhaling deeply. The scent of arousal was heady in his nostrils. "Do you have trouble with your back?"
"Not really. It aches sometimes, if I carry heavy things, or sleep on something uncomfortable."
"Good," Jordan growled. He stole another bruising kiss, before guiding Gabe towards the bedroom.
