Chapter 11

Early this morning, I sent word out to the council that I would like to talk to them. Ravenna was still a bit hesitant about it all, we walked in silence, her arms wrapped around herself for comfort

"Everything will be fine, Ravenna." I said "The council is are very easily persuadable."

"I just worry that they'll think I'm a spy, won't believe me at all and have my imprisoned." She said

"You worry too much, have a little faith."

"That's all I really did at home, it felt like I was always stepping on egg shells."

"You're not home are you?"

"No."

"Stop worrying then." I said poking her shoulder

"The only person we should worry about knowing this, is the King." Maddox said, walking alongside us

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked

"Not long, but long enough to sort of understand what this meeting is about."

Ravenna looked at me, uneasiness in them

Does she worry that Maddox will kill her? I wouldn't let him or anybody lay a finger on her

The council were waiting for us when we entered the second meeting room, the same room where we had met Jackson

That was only a week ago now that I think of it.

"Magnus, what is the topic of this meeting?" Chief Counciler asked

"Last night I had an encounter with King Griffin in Raven's room, there was no fight or words exchanged only between him and Raven. Raven here," I said, gesturing to her "will tell you better than I about what happened last night. Please think this information over before you attack her."

The council all looked at Ravenna, waiting for her to speak, she looked at me and it seemed to give her the confidence that she needed as she looked at the men seated before her

"I'm no ordinary human, I am or was the heir to King Griffin and the missing Vampire Princess. I didn't run away to your kingdom from my Dad. A month or so ago when Magnus came to the Vampire castle, in Maine, I for the first time had the recklessness to go against my Dad and escape my confinement in the castle. I followed Magnus in the car he was driving into the nearby human town, my Dad's men had seen my escape and took me back to a very angry King. For my punishment, I was turned into this simple human, you see standing before you. Last night, King Griffin did come into my room with an empty apology. Magnus caught the last second of it, he thinks that I could be the key to peace between our kinds. If you'll allow it, I'll try my best to convince King Griffin."

The council looked at each other waiting for one to talk, Maddox was the first to speak

"If I understand this-"

The doors of the room were knocked of their hinges as they opened, in the doorway stood Dad, huffing and puffing with anger. I took a protective stance in front of Ravenna

"Magnus, you brought Griffin's her here? You have put us all in grave danger!"

"She's the key to stopping this damn war!"

Guards swarmed in from the other door behind me, one grabbed at Ravenna. Grabbing the collar of his shirt, I threw him against the wall, some had shifted and came at me

"Men, you may stop now we have the girl." Dad said

I turned around as they handcuffed Ravenna

"Magnus, you promised, you promised it would -" She cried
