Iman's POV

"Aww, is it Habibi?". Amal asked nudging me and I just ignored her.

They followed me to the car saying they want to greet my Habibi. They greeted him and Amal teased us but he said nothing just sending glares her way.

"Ina wuni (Good afternoon)". I greeted him immediately they left.

"How are you?". He asked as he opened the passenger door for me.

Gentleman.

"I'm fine just tired". I answered.

"Sorry". He muttered then closed the door and went to the driver's side.

We left the school and the car was very silent as none of us talked. I decided to break the silent.

"How was work?". I asked him.

"Fine". He replied keeping his eyes on the road.

"You are off so early". I said.

"Yeah". He replied.

"Will you go back?". I asked.

"No". He replied after like a minute.

"I thought you said Mallam Auwal will be the one taking me to and fro from school?". I finally asked the question that has been on my mind since I saw him. He just glanced at me for a second then turned back to watching the road. He didn't reply.

"You talk too much". He finally said.

Ouchh!

I Just did myself some good as I kept my mouth shut since then. I talk too much? Do I really talk too much? Now I'm sure that he doesn't like me. But why is he acting like this? Yesterday he was making jokes here and there, was it just an act? And why did he even come to pick me if he knows he doesn't want to talk to me?

We arrived at the house and he went out immediately and went into the house without even looking towards my way. Did I do something wrong? I don't think so because we happily ate dinner yesterday. He just changed since I asked him if he wanted to watch a movie with me. Maybe that was what made him angry. But why? Ughh, I'm just thinking of an excuse knowing he's the only one that can answer that.

I followed him into the house and didn't see him around. I guess he's in his room. I went to my room and took a quick shower then performed ablution. I came out and prayed then went downstairs.

I saw Baba and Nadia in the kitchen preparing dinner.

"Assalamualaikum". I said entering the kitchen with a smile.

"Wa'alaikissalam". They replied and turned to look at me reflecting My smile.

"Sannun ku. Baba Ina wuni (Weldone. Good evening Baba)". I said as I squatted a little since she's older than me.

" 'ya ta ya kike ya makaranta?( My daughter how are you and how's school?)". She asked.

"Duk lafiya Alhamdulillah( All fine Alhamdulillah)". I replied as I went to peep into the pot to see what they are cooking.

"No no no, it's a surprise". Nadia said coming quickly to cover the pot with its lid so I won't see what's inside.

I just laughed and said "okay".

"You should just go and rest, you must be very tired". Baba said with a heartwarming smile.

"Orr...I can just stay here and watch you guys". I said.
