RESSENTIMENT

Two months have passed since Zephyr had started working as a butler in Sera's mansion, and not to mention, Things Couldn't Go Any Smoother. Sera can finally rest in peace after work. Although business is sometimes rough, Zephyr's incredible cooking was more than enough to lift her sorrows. At first, Sera was quite suspicious of him, but all those suspicions soon faded as Sera came to see his skills and the way he handled the situations in bare seconds. On top of that, he was handling the staff and managing budgets hand-to-hand, like it was nothing. Even Sera wasn't able to comprehend that. Was this guy actually this perfect? All these points acted as a catalyst in making Sera lower her guard in front of him. The usual cold, bitchy demeanor she always pretended to show was now replaced with a childlike, cheerful demeanor. She started to completely lower her guard and have an honest conversation with him. In other words, she started to treat him like a 'FAMILY'. And maybe that is why.........all this happened.

"Going somewhere?", Zephyr asks, as he watches Sera putting on her camel-colored trench coat, which she in general, wore while meeting her closed ones..." Mhmmm,", Sera nods as she quickly combed her long porcelain silver hair, avoiding Zephyr's gaze. "Just a small get-together with friends".

"I'll probably be late today, so don't prepare anything for me...I hate wasting food,"Sera continues as she vigorously puts on the Louboutin heels. "Understood ma'am", Zephyr replied calmly, while maintaining his usual, stoic demeanor. "Also ma'am, Sire Augustus contacted us again today regarding that last deal. He insists on meeting you personally this time," Zephyr continues while following Sera to the exit like a lost puppy, not minding the stack of folders he was carrying. "Proceed as same regarding their deal and transactions, and about that meeting personally part, inform Mr. Augutus to text me the meeting details". "But ma'am," Zephyr cuts her sentence midway..."You don't have to meet him personally, I'll inform Sir that you're not well, "Zephyr, I cannot always avoid him, besides this deal is a big opportunity for us". "I hope you understand", Sera responds as she rushes to the exit door.

Zephyr bit the inside of his lower lips as he forced himself to not argue. He could taste the strong metallic tang of blood in his mouth. The last thing he desired was to see Sera with another guy. Even the mere thought of her being with another asshole like Mr. Augustus in the same room, let alone with him made him nauseous. The mere sight of Sera with another male species made him wanna gauge his eyeballs out. Does this mean he loves or adores her? No. Then does this mean he cares for her? No. On the other hand, he couldn't care less. It took all his self-control and all he could respond with was "As you wish ma'am" in a poised manner. Her smile flickered across her face like a hologram upon hearing his response. "Good", she mumbles in rushes out of the mansion in a hurry.

(Timeskip to Sera's meeting with her friends)~

Lilith, Sera's best friend guffawed and snorted as she laughed her ass off.

"I can't believe you slapped that guy! I was sure for a second that you would knock his jaw'. "As much I wanted to, I had no intention of getting a restraining order, besides he deserved that. Who the fuck asks for a blowjob on the first date?", Sera replies nonchalantly while sipping her tequila-like water. "Mostly all guys expect some sort of intimacy on the first date", Lilith chuckles while eyeing the hotties on the dance floor. Sera follows where she was looking and replies with a shrug "Why do men always disappoint me?, I might just date you at this point". Lilith giggled upon hearing her, she could see Sera's exhaustion clearly and decided not to press the matter.

(After a few minutes of awkward silence)~

Lilith: Guess what genius? Today I made 2000 pounds in just several minutes.

Sera: I got to know something about you recently, Lily.

Lilith: hmm, what is it? I've committed so many wrongdoings, that I don't even know which one you're talking about. *shrugs*

Sera: You know exactly what I'm talking about.

Lilith: *gulps nervously* Keirein told you that?

Sera: Mhmm...

Lilith: But did he tell you that I was forced? Okay?

Sera: Okay.

Lilith: God man! He can't keep anything to himself. He is driving me crazy, man. Ten days ago, my aunt came to London and she dragged me to some friend's relative's place to see some guy named Calix. I decided that I would go, have some tea, say thank you, Sir, thank you ma'am, say no, and come back but as soon as I took the first sip of my tea, Calix said no. So... you know...

Sera: What?

Lilith: I mean, so what! What is there?

Sera: *bursts out laughing*

Lilith: What? Come on, man!

Sera: So you went for an arranged marriage and you got rejected!

Lilith: But I didn't even create an impression! I didn't want to impress him! Besides, we both are aware of the fact that Keirein will either kill that poor guy or frame him for something he didn't do. So, Good for him, I guess.

Sera: No, no! You are just saying it now. You have ruined the reputation of our 'group'! Fail, fail, fail!

Lilith: Shut up, please stop it! And what was the need of telling you? What's wrong with Keirein?

Sera: Actually, Keirein didn't told me anything. It's one of my new tricks and you are its latest prey. Cheers! 2000 pounds! *laughs*

Lilith: *rolls her eyes* You failed in pissing me, Sera.

Sera: But Calix passed!
